(short story-ive been hit by a PLAUGE of trojan/worm/droppers/loggers/* (god knows im all hardweary arent I? I... WE... need help- this seems almost aimed at me)

So ofc B'day- despite nearly setting my bed/room on fire 10 days before and not knowing if i was welcome here- to my Mum (having seen the place burn to cinders in '84... i remember the Red 'nee nahs'... ) it must have been terrifying at 1am with me screaming for water (memory foam matress? check... )

ANyway......
21 again and all that, Mum comes round- amazing day getting essentials- -woo- last part for new rig (new thread/post?!)- magic beans, (sargamartha star auto... wowzwers!.. plus some good old DP power.p fems) -half of blue cheese in evening (and morning!... yum yum )-... great.... (well- god- amazing! ALL i couldve wanted (I did/ am paying for much but with no car and 15 miles from bournemotuh it enabled me to get going!)

Made more progress in last 12 weeks than 12 years health/ lifestyle-wise. 3 Ales a day. As few as 2... as many as 4 unless partying down.
Balance (and Quality liquor!)... at last .... nearly.....

BUT......

*blows HH horn over the hills/ lights 'HELP!' fires/ makes the HH smoke signal and activates Heavy-lamp*!

"Affiliated old guard/old members passed or passing by, new members with a heart, strangers with anti malicious 'Hack-trap' skills.... I've not been on a 6 month (quite normal) Khola-cruise....

HACKERS HAVE MY WHOLE HOUSE PINNED DOWN... im JUST finding a window now to get this out again... 3 months ago it was a case of re-running anything from MWB, Hitman, TDSS+Rogue Killer.... now im attacked from Software and isp sides.

It's tearing my family (well the 2 of us... but all the stronger bond) apart as i have nothing.

Well... my trusty old i7-920 1366 rig with a 9hr drive to help from ex HH- loved/not but a great build still.
BF4 all top settings (SP) 1080p and barely throws a frame.

So fine- offline mode, play the few pirate games i own (1-2%?) without fear!
OK... but kinda lonely- when stuck up here on my hill! No car, no mobile since John the baptist moment/ near no-Khola moment falling in River Xmas eve midnight. Sober. thank god.

ANYWAY.

Ive made a hacker mad by using my weak, hardware-biased skills to back trace/ snif/ who-is... obv leading to (mostly romanian) VPNs etc... but an attack that extended to 2-8 phonecalls a day... from hang-ups to a USA mobile answerphone message! Saudi national bank reserves IP in boomarks (/virus link).... outlook logo an Anon face for one logon...

Norton support WERE honestly ace at keeping all this at bay with mums 360 premium that came with lappy.... 2 weeks after it finished. Cannot connect. Gmails... in fact all mails (its blurry now 6 months in!) changed p/w and disabled retrieval in one way or other.

I've JUST found a window online and can check forum again I think,,, i know a MWB 2 month forun exchange w/logs would solve but just recieved in mail..

Kingston HyperX beasst 2400 16gb (no more triple channel but my 6gb was a nightmare and was clocked down to 1400)
MSI GD65 z79... (2011 can wait.... and if i feel pin-less ive still got the 1366!)

Change your passwords from a friend's phone or library computer, buy a new hard drive, change your ISP and phone number, and don't trust any removable media that you ever connected to your PC e.g. USB sticks or phones.

You are on a dynamic IP address, so unless you have rogue software phoning home there is no way that you can be constantly tracked in this way. Anything behind the router (with a dynamic IP) is completely in your control. You must have something that is causing constant reinfections that allows access to your PC.

The fact that you have been phoned repeatedly would mean that you either fell for a phone scam once and are seen as a soft target for repeat calls or your phone number was compromised at some point.

It is far too involved to sort this issue out from forum postings. Have you tried used a Linux based Anti Virus CD on all your drives and removable media or are you trying to disinfect from within your own Windows Install?

There is a possibility that this is aimed at me due to past information given when 2 (real, credible 100%) 'men in black' turned up with a package... sorry a photo of a a package! Asking "were you expecting mail Mr *Khola*?"

...and proceeded to stand over me for several hours reading and sending 1 email at a time! proper MIB job but their customs devision.

I know how lame it is to post up and QQ about a virus... esp. when im mostly on the right track but this, along with the Fire have just sapped the sense out of me and 6 months of internet for an hour or 2 then cant connect for a month.

I know this lappy can connect now and have ordered a hard copy of IObit security suite to sit with /aviva- for my Mum's Lappy running 8.1 this had some neat features and was alongside MWB kinda, after Hitman, for picking up nasties.

I've had that Ram since... well, months now too... so was (on recieving CPU easter Sat to my surprise!... was like '87 and opening up the Speccy 48k all over again.

Good feeling. ......2011 woulda been great but with my 670 being pci-e 3 etc it opens up those 40 lanes or wotnot.
I say BF4 didnt drop a frame... but that singleplayer....... with the extra LAN features on the board it should up/smooth my ping nicely which is great up here on the Hampshire Hills!

my 920 is on 7 enterprise... think i have disc but cant remember key- im on that- possible i can chooseany legit Win version- considering 8.1 now it's not shoving metro in my face (actually have to load metro apps up now... joy)... plus talks of better perfprmance than 7? Anyone Gaming on 8.1?

The mobo / cpu combination are fine. I run the MSI Z87-GD45 Gaming mobo with an i5 4670k. You will not notice any difference at all with the Killer NIC. The most useful thing about it so far is the built in download limiter that works on a per application basis.

It's hard to know what on earth is going on in Kholaland tbh. These people that turned up and wanted access to your PC, who exactly were they? I would have thought that it had to be a police department with a warrant in order to gain that kind of access immediately.

You really need to stop buying random anti-malware stuff and lock down every compromised computer from accessing the internet. I have never ran into any infection that could not be clean with free tools.

If you use wifi, ensure you are using WPA2 and change your wifi password.

Then you need to get hold of a Linux Anti Virus CD, burnt from a safe computer. Boot from that distro, then you need to systematically check everything when offline. Do not have any computers connected over your network switched on.

It is extremely difficult to remove an infection these days from within the install you are running. Most nasties have process protection and repopulate immediately after removal.

I use Windows 8.1, it's fast, runs games fine, has a few extra features I make use of (built in antivirus, native ISO mounting, nice task manager). At first I hated the Start screen, installed Classic Shell and it became no different from 7. Then I uninstalled classic shell to try the start screen, and I actually find it more useful. Can't speak as to gaming performance compared to 7 though.

(but do keep in mind that I used to defend Vista...)

I myself have learnt meanings of phrases "Manning up" and "hard days work"... all whilst on a 'health improvement regime' that ive been waiting a decade to get help with and made more progress since Xmas! As to 8.1... yeah this just boots to desktop now and even metro button works like normal start one. App perhaps.

have to actually(i know.. i was looking at the floor the whole time biting lip) TRY to load metro apps,,,,, well you would have to.... or are they more secure?

re-install was on cards anyhow... mums lappy 2gb data on a TB and a disc backup plus HD partition/pcworld so no sweats- just literal access and perhaps a few services too many off in paranoia... ill take a screenie... thats a sort of plan, just can only think of one person using linux i know i can get to, and he's an older chap i know thru mum... but my be a good direction actually...

just want to play about 5 games ive not even seen yet (barely/ actually)... get it explained why no pinball comp happened. etc etc
