This is my take, I have come to the conclusion that Scout is quantitavely the best class for the following reasons:
He is the fastest class, that means instead of relying on clever tricks or enormous oversized weaponry (lol Mr. Heavy, compensating for something?) this guy is just physically superior. Like a Michael Johnson or some shit. People hate him. He's a smug little bastard and that pisses people off. This is a great thing, cause happy people are boring people - it gets much more interesting when the rage flows. He's the only class with a microphone, so that's like Valve basically saying this guy is the only one that has something important to say, so ya better stfu. Fuck the Pyro, that's just a weird guy in a gimp suit. This badass can jump midfreakingair! I don't know about you, but breaking the laws of Physics is pretty hardcore. I doesn't matter if you're a 300 pound slav with a learning deficiency, a psychotic German with a penchant for sadism or a yank with a freaking RPG - this guy will blast you in the back and run away laughing his arse off. Tying into the last one, the Scout has the best damn laugh in the game. No question. It's not so much a laugh as a self indulgent, you just got owned the face I pwn you cackle. He can afford to laugh like a goof remember, because he is the best class in the game "Grass grows, birds fly, sun shines and brutha - I hurt people!"
