I'm trying my best, and here it is: my beta forum sig... Its inspired quite a lot by Eion's work, but hey, you need someone to look up to...
Still needs a bit of brush and pattern work, and i cant get those scand dots/lines to work... Any good sites for brushes or patterns anyone? Cant seem to find nice ones like Eion's...
Otherwise I would say that this has been my playground to test the wonderful pen tool, which i never used before. I also made the render myself thanks to the pen tool.
And i need help/tips to make the render less "distinct" from the rest of the sig...
I think so... I'm proud of the work I did myself, even if yours would look better, I'd still go for my personal achievement Thanks anyway for inspriring me ^^ (you can still give me some advice)
Advice eh? 1.You want to make the render (which is pretty damn good btw) stick out less, but yet not be too indistinct.
First approach, try different layer styles. Using overlay and soft light can decrease the starkness of the image. Use it in conjunction with the opacity and layer fill.
Second approach, duplicate the render and hide your original (I do this so I always have the original to go back to). Now desaturate it. You can use this greyscale version as a sort of base for different colours. You can use the Image> Adjustments> Colour balance or Hue/Saturation to embue it with a new colour. If you wish to retain some colour from the original render, duplicate again from the original and play around with layer orders, styles and opacities. If you find it necessary, you can use levels and curves to balance it out.
2. Patterns. I can show you a quick one to make.
Make a new image that is 6 pixels by 6 pixels. Zoom in as far as you can go. Get out the pencil tool, with a brush size of 1 pixel. Starting in the corner, make a diagonal line of squares to the opposite corner.
Then, go to Edit> Define Pattern. Once you have given it a name, it will save it along with the others.
Using the Pattern Stamp Tool (amongst others), you can use that in your work. Using the same technique you can make scanlines.
Bare in mind I just do this as a hobby, I'm not an art student or graphic designer (could have been, but thats another story). So theres plenty of things you can do I probably don't know about.
Big big big big big big big big BIG apologies on not getting these done, I've been swamped in job applications, celebrations and everything and I need to put finding a job infront of everything, can barely spend any time ingame or on photoshop now, but I will get these done eventually, even if you've got a sig or not. I promised, didn't I?
If you are feeling up to it Eion could you make me a Medic one with the slogan " Nobody suspects the Medic". Throw whatever design you want on it. Cheers.
