I dont like fastlane, just isnt that interesting.

That -sk- guy gets far too many accolades for his average playing maps. Sure they look good, but wheres the substance?

Now turbine, it's simple, solid and easy to pick up. Basically a classic.

Pah, turbine, its just ridiculously simple and ends way too often with getting absolutely raped from an unkown angle just crossing the main foyer...

Played fastlane, i thought it was rubbish. i like turbine as it supports all classes.

Situational awareness ftw...

Spent some more time on turbine today and, ya, its not bad. Since I always play defensively ctf just isnt my map-type though I guess.

And fastlane...well, its pretty good imo. Nothing special but very playable.

Situal awareness is one thing, being attacked from behind that could have come from 8 possible different directions and not haveing a clue which one it was.

I also just hate the alternative route, (it takes farther to get to from spawn rather than just going down some stairs you have to go through cap and take that route), good map design would reward the extra time you have to spend getting there, for example with more cover or less enemies. Turbine does the exact opposite, taking a slower route results in being encountered with more enemies taking the faster route to the main foyer, i just think its piss poor map design tbh.

Turbine is better than 2Fort in almost every way. It's not a great map, CTF just doesn't sit all that well with many of TF2's (dumbed down) mechanics, but Turbine makes the best of a bad situation.

Taking the slower route bypasses a major choke point (2nd and 3rd corner) which can be locked down and also give you the height advantage when attacking the flag.

But hell, it's not my place to defend the map - play it or don't I'm indifferent.

Fastlane talks a good talk, but fast bogs down into generic team-with-better-players-steamrolls-the-other snoozefest a la Badlands.
Turbine is more fun imo, a faster paced bit of fun, but guess which one will win all the mapvotes.....
