played 3 more maps today

floodzone = very boring, snipers paradise. not a lot of action, way too big, none progressive spawn points which makes it really hard to hold a point.

gas_kaboom = very good fun, lots of action, very novel (although thereused to be an old tfc map that used to gas ppl). destroyable scenery (to help get to intel quicker). everyone playing on it seemed to like it.

snofort = ok, not very big, played at night time, adds some atmosphere. again ppl playing it seemed to like it.

i'll try and get some more played, but i dont think that will be today now.

Can we add openfire? Its been going down really well late at night - filling the server quite frequently. Other that that I still havent had chance to play the other maps.

Is there any decent voting software we could put on there? Vote for next map or something?

Also and OT, sometimes the custom server doesnt finish maps when the timelimit is reached. Its also got stuck at the end of the spawn timer a few times. Does it run the same config as the main servers?

I've found two new maps worth testing.

First up is ctf_casbah, yet another remake of a TFC map. Contrary to some other remakes this map looks like it will play great in TF2. The only downside is the extremely annoying advertising this guy put in for his clan complete with music.

Next is Vikings. Another ctf maps but with a twist. The map consists of 2 viking ships laying next to each other. The intel is protected by a glass box with 10,000 HP with you will need to break. That's right 10,000 HP, according to the maker it takes two complete rounds of a minigun to break it. The map also features a two cannons by which you can shoot yourself to the other ship. You need to use the 'use' key to operate it though(yeah I didn't know TF2 had a 'use' key either). All in all it looks like a novel map worth a try.
The file in the archive is named wrong; instead of yaaarghbsp it should of course be yaaargh.bsp

oh my, i remember playing casbah at work at dinner times on many occasions, very good map.

would be good if we could put it on and see what its like

ok having had a look at what i could load on the server, i voted for

    1 - lazytown - not too keen, but i know its liked by a lot of ppl
    2 - junction - looks brilliant, same type of map as gravelpit, i imagine ppl will love it
    3 - warpath - old favourite, progressive spawns, plenty of action

grand canyon looked a lot better than canyon, although i imagine this map could be a problem as its so big.
wolf not keen on at all
and the others i couldnt find.

someone mentioned casbah earlier, would love to get this on the server and see how they have done it for tf2

when i jumped on earlier, the map loaded was floodzone, and didnt seem to be working correctly, e.g. you couldnt actually start.

Cant remember the name of a map we played last night on the old custom server.
It was a rather small map and it was NOT meleebarn. Think it had two CP and it
was quite open.
