The Hampshire Heavies is powered by the community spirit and generous donations of its members. It simply wouldn't be alive and kicking in its current form without both of these things.
Over the last 8 years and 5 months community members, from non-regs to regs to members and admins, have contributed over £8000 to cover the costs our dedicated server, domains, TF2 servers and Mumble server. (Average monthly running costs approx. £23)
We think donators deserve recognition and have introduced a new tag on the forum.
Plus as an extra little bonus, you can set a colour for your text chat by typing !don in game.
I appreciate the motivation behind, and the effort put into, the modifications - thanks to all involved!
That said...I don't care for the in-game Star.
I don't use any custom skins, turn off sprays, & debate the merits of custom map design & the content generated for it against the world that Valve created (I have issues haha). Whilst I am aware that the Star is only visible during set-up & post-round, I'd really rather prefer it if I didn't have to see it at all (turning off custom-files just means I see the purple & black place-holder).
I also don't want to spoil anyone else's fun, so if there is a way I can 'opt-out' can someone post it and maybe everyone can be happy?
Plus as an extra little bonus, you can set a colour for your text chat, and set a personalised greeting chat message for when you first join a TF2 server.
To set these features, donators can access a menu by typing !don whilst in game.
I updated my settings earlier, but there was still an enormous star hovering over my head when I joined the server afterwards XD
To clarify: the way the option description is phrased it seems like choosing 'off' would remove my star, but all other donator stars (assuming their option is set to 'on') would remain visible - is this the case? (I hate to bellyache over a gesture of goodwill, but I don't want to see them at all hehe)
You may have noticed this earlier Frog, but the stars are visible during Sudden Death too.
