Ok. It seems like a few of us are interested enough in BF2 to have gone out and bought a copy. Some of you have already played it too. So how about a Battlefield 2 night sometime soon? How does Thurs 21st of Feb sound? This would also give anyone else interested, time to get themselves a copy. For those who are new to this game or are thinking of getting it, here's what you will need to play.

1. A copy of the game (obviously)
2. The latest patch (currently v1.41) find it here: Clicky and here: Clicky
3. Punkbuster Services from here: Clicky
4. Punkbuster Setup from here: Clicky
5. Optional new map Highway Tampa from here: Clicky
6. Another good idea would be to have Xfire installed which basically works like your Steam friends list, allowing you to see what games your friends are playing and to be able to join them with a mouse click. Find it here: Clicky
7. And finally a good thing to do is add BF2 to your Non-Steam games list in order to let other people on Steam see that you playing it.

Install all of them in the order shown to avoid any problems. If you already have recent Punkbuster enabled games such as COD4 the you probably won't need the Punkbuster Services.

I have abandoned my old Battlefield 2 account and created a new one under the name "HHMad" All my stats are reset but I felt it was the right thing to do in light of being in this luvverly clan of ours.

Still have to hone my skills but enjoyed that game t'other night plenty. Great maps from what i've seen so far.
I prefer the squad combat on BF2 (i like the responsive crosshair... nice, intuative feature). But i prefer the airborne and vehicle stuff in 2012- i guess purely because it's easier to pick up flying... I'm sure if I ended up getting the hang of choppers and jets id enjoy them just as much as the 2012 counterparts. Will be buying 2012 as soon as i see it in Game, so hope some will give me a game on that also. Did I mention it had big stompy Mechs?

BF2 does seem a little more precise and simulator-ish; which is a good thing. 2012 seems more of a quick blast; which is a good thing also

ahh yeh damn... 2142 is more like it- prob just wishful thinking that big-ass Mech's are just round the corner! (god i used to love Mechwarrior2 sooo much!)

would be great to have a blast at both- cos in 2142 I can actually fly things, for short distances!

headphones and mic are present and correct- will get TS on this xp install soon-- if not dont BF2 have voip? you were just as quiet as a mouse with a bad throat last time so couldnt hear ya sure we'll have something sorted by then

guess ill reinstall it give it a whirl and let you know on thursday used to be pretty good at the heli's but the planes were alot harder

What maps you playing? I only play infantry now, can't stand random deaths from above. Otherwise i'd come play a few games. You could post your pids and then use bf2s.com to set up a H|H leaderboard, easy to find each other and join servers too.

Not really fussed about whether it's infantry only or not tbh. My PID is 125341617 but don't expect to see much as this is my new "HHMad" BF2 account. As for the leaderboard, I think we'll see about that later if there is enough interest.
