I may well give this a try. Hopefully the deadline is a little forgiving so I can make room between studying for exams.

Can we use other people's content and images for the banner? If so, must we seek permission?

Unless it's copyrighted artwork, that does not use game company model, textures or graphics then don't worry about it. Most of what people produce is in the public domain and just using part of it can be seen as fair-use.

Nothing we do is for commercial use or gain.

Eww, I hope not. It's good to see what looks how, but we should decide on the best. (Again, I think K3D's is the best.)
