ok, so i've done everything, but I can't seem to get Highway Tampa to be recognised by the game. Whenever I log in to my account it tells me I can download the map, and if I say yeah then it tells me it needs to quit the game to take me to the download site.. But I've already got it installed - I can see the map in my list of maps, but it doesn't seem to have realised..

any ideas?

It allways tells you you can download highway tampa when you start the game. (Just an Advert) As long as you have it installed in your maps folder you will be able to join a highway tampa game.

And that Downalod Highway tampa advert never disappears even if you have it instaled, just shows how much BF turned into a adverts company

Hell if you do start a server ill be on it alot love the game, sniping in it rocks sadly TF2's sniping isnt quite the same

If you do make it Karkand only 32 player Inf only All the others maps are pretty boring Sharaki isnt bad Mashtuura or what ever it is called is ok as well aslong as Inf only

Isn't there enough "Strike At Karkand" infantry only servers out there already? Let the newer players have a good few weeks playing the game before we all decide what we prefer eh? I'm guessing some of them will love flying planes 'n' helis around as much as running and shooting. There are plenty of great maps in there too.

There is a LOT to learn in BF2 and that includes etiquette as well as the gameplay. OK so some servers are full of dickheads but if we can run one with the same sort of respect and authority we give to the TF2 servers then it would be one of the best BF2 servers out there whatever mode of play is decided upon.

Yeah make it inf only, i'll bring my guys to fill it up now and again. Don't go karkand only though it is just like the big Dustbowl debate people get sick after a while. Sharki and Mashtur are great for infantry only. We used to have karkand every other map to keep people happy and the server full, could alternate between 64 player and 32 player map sizes to keep the variety going. Lots of servers have vehicle weekends or couple of days during the week as well.

It's really difficult to find a server run by sensible and fair admin, lots of places hand out bans the second you start beating the home clan members. I'm sure if you carry over the same H|H style to bf2 it would soon find a following.
