Sergeant Rock used to play a lot of BF2 and has told me horror stories of the kinds of abuse it is potentially open to.

However, my take on it is that if you've got a good admin group who know what the 'exploits' are, and apply the same degree of maturity that I love about the HH servers to a BF2 server then it ought to be as much fun as any of the TF2 servers.

Of course, I say maturity cos I'm old and cynical (though not as old as Sergeant Rock by some degree..).

The thing that put me off BF the people who play it, they teamkill you to get the jet tank apc or whatever moan at you constantly saying your crap and they should have the jet and kikc you when you kill them, then there is the guys who go around on different teams kill a guy one guy revives him then the other kills him again, all against the wishes of the player getting killed and the amount of hacks and so on in that game are ridicllous and EA arent going to fix it

I bought 2142 a while back having never forayed into the battlefield series, and it was quite short lived. Wasn't a great community tbh, maybe I just got unlucky choosing servers to play on

If the H|H get a server up or start playing on the same server I'd be willing to give BF2 a shot, would make for a change

To be fair the game is a few years old now i doubt it'll ever see another update and the amount of hacks for every game out there is ridiculous. You can do whatever you want if you're willing to pay for it.
Valve Anti Cheat "VAC" has always been a joke, you could find 10 different CS:S hacks for free in 2 minutes on google and they'd never be detected.

The problem with bf was there were so many people playing it so you will always find some idiot or 14 year old spoiled brat in a server. That's why a server with good admin support is a diamond if you can find it.

Biggest problem is good cheats are very hard to spot what with no spectator function or deathcam. I've been called a cheater a number of times and have accused players myself in the heat of the moment but you have to remember in a game where headshots and lucky shots are common place you will die easily and frequently unless you're very careful with cover.

I always found lag to be my biggest hate of the game. No matter what server you play on this seems to be the a problem oh and the hitboxes have a mind of their own. I'm sure anyone who's played alot will know what i mean about the grey dust hits

Too true heheh. Y'know, I must have been very lucky during my time in BF1942/BF2/BF2142 because I have rarely come across a server where hackers are a problem or not been quickly dealt with.

Well if a server for it goes up id certainly give it a shot, just had a go at ti much better than i remembered picked up some of my sniper skills again even without my L96 and racked up 30 kills in about as many minutes, hell i really enjoyed it,just look forward to getting my unlocks and badges for sniping and support again

If it's only £5-10 I think i'll buy it again if i can't get my account sorted. Not that I can remember the details of it anyway

Well, for the sake of the HH I started a new account from fresh. "HHMad" is my BF2 name now. It's actually kinda fun getting the medals and unlocks all over again.

Yeah it makes you feel all good , You have been awarded Basic Sniper combat badge for 5 kills, then you realise what they are for and its not so good
