I really think it would be a good idea for the BF2'ers amongst us to use Xfire too. It's free and you can join a friends game with the click of your mouse. Post you Xfire names here so we can add each other.

Also guys, don't forget the widescreen fixer. If you are using a widescreen monitor, your game view is stretched to fit the screen. You can use a few extra commands in your shortcut (e.g. "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050) but even this does not produce a TRUE widecreen image. In fact you see LESS than someone with a standard 4:3 monitor. See the image below. The blue area represents what is seen on a standard 4:3 monitor. The middle area is what you see on a widescreen monitor using an edited command line (i.e less than the 4:3 view). And finally the red area shows the ammount of the game you will see using the widescreen fixer i.e a TRUE widecrenn field of view.

The author of this one however has been in contact with EvenBalance and it is now allowed although only unnoficially. I have been using it (version 1.32) with no problems whatsoever.
