Mach4 Turbine Labor Warpath Quarry (truly Valve quality visually) Heard good things of Redstone Castle (staple, makes a change from Dustbowl) Wolf (like Gravel, not my favourite but seems popular) Rats_alpha (or latest version, can be very fun - quite different)
I'd say those are the most popular customs from my experience on other servers (especially UKCS which I used to frequent)
They're probably all my favourites too except Wolf.

Please do not include shock its far to open for most classes to be effective and sniper and spies rule firther mroe it is ver poorly optimized and most of us when playing were avereaging 10 fps in the out side areas on pcs that play fine on any other map. Mach 4 should be in though that is very good and well made, if a bit small

Re: THE FIRST HH MAP PACK
I'd second Castle, Mach4 and Redstone.
Also got to agree with Ares on Shock. A truly awful map imo.
CTF_openfire is quite interesting, Its a CP/CTF hybrid type tingy.

Re: THE FIRST HH MAP PACK
Could Redstone maybe gotten rid off on the map rotation? Every time it comes up, the server empties because people don't like the map. I've seen it happen three times so far (out of the three times it showed up) and it's horrible if Server 1 suddenly empties. I personally don't think it's that bad, but a lot of people mentioned they had no idea where to go and started getting lost.
Also, I can see Shock work with some work done on it, but currently it's not very good. The first capture point is too big, and too hard for the attackers to take (and there's also a respawn time of 18 seconds, iirc, for taking the first point) and snipers dominate every part of the map.

I've got no idea how people are getting lost on Redstone. The map's almost completely linear
I personally think its one of the best custom maps. Its much more interesting than well/granary.
I, personally, haven't seen it empty the server either.

Re: THE FIRST HH MAP PACK
Yeah, I have no clue how they could get lost either. However, I did find a lot of things that did not feel natural (a lot of it had to do with going upstairs, when you go up nothing makes sense anymore), and you have to walk a loooong way until you get to the next CP.
But I guess the distances are about as long as Granary, it just felt longer. Maybe because people were more keen on fighting on the CPs than between them.

These are my favorites out of the lot, they all share a certain quality performance AND design-wise. cp_junction and cp_station are pretty nice but have some real problems: the last cap in junction is still almost impossible to cap and the second control poiny in station is awfully hard to get back once lost because of the two tiny entrances being the only ways in and out.
The absolutely awful ones are tomu and shock, both of which suck monkeyballs in every aspect possible and perfrom worse than my first "ima making a CS-map lulz" back in the day. Like the mappers knew nothing about visleafs and polycounts.
Anyhoo, I'd love to see more custom maps around and enjoy testing new ones, as long as the bad ones get taken from the rotation pretty fast.
