I'm getting more and more annoyed with public servers lately. The spamfest, the big numbers and of course the crits. After the new smell of goldrush wears out i think it would be a good idea to change server 3 into a no crit server.

With the lower number of players and no crits and a bit of advertising i think we can attract a lot of clanners to this server seeing as there are apparently no pub servers like this around.

What do you guys think about this?

This could be good if it attracted some top players to the server it would be good pracitce for us, might leanr something

can we ban medics as well?

Seriously though, i like it when i get crits, but get rather annoyed when i plan an attack based on taking an amount of damage only to get crit murdered in a single shot! I would love to play without crits, removes that certain element of pure luck!

Actually there are a lot of nocrit servers if you look at the "Custom" tab in Steam. Disabling crits is like putting no salt on your chips

I don't think it'd be that difficult to sustain a regular player base for a nocrit server since there are quite a few clan players joining our servers these days after our outings in the various leagues

EDIT: also whilst there are a few nocrit servers around their arnt many and I dont know of any good well admined ones

Could be worth a trial. Would have to keep an eye on numbers as the server would no longer be listed in the main 'Internet' tab server listing which is the one that pretty much everyone sticks with.

Another possible option would be to have a nocrit vote at the start of a new map.

However HH3 is Java's, So I guess he might have a strong opinion one way or another.

I think its a good idea. It will serve to stop every day players spamming the place up, I would certainly find myself gravitating toward Server 3 for much more action, especially if I saw more regs / clanners on there.

It's not as if Servers 1 and 2 won't be available either.

Gotta say, I got really lucky on Dustbowl 3rd stage 2nd point yesterday when I totalled the SG nest with a single crit sticky, I'm sure the guys that had put up such a stalwart defence were gutted.

This idea gets my vote.

I know the no-crit issue tends to split opinion in the wider TF2 community but with 2 crit-enabled servers and 1 crit free, HH should appeal to a wider audience (for want of a better word).

Going slightly off-topic, do crubers work on a crit free server?
