Is there any way to get rid of that annoying message which is always in the middle of your screen whenever a round starts? It usually still is there when you reach your first enemy and it blocks your aim in an annoyingly way...

i know exactly what u mean, on hydro the messages always piss me off....i have no idea how tog et rid of them faster tho

The one on the stop clock on tournament mdoei sthe worst takes up over half the screen and takes half a aronud to disappear.

I think shooting makes it disappear faster, but I might be wrong about this...

Go to:

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\USERNAME\team fortress 2\tf\media

Open viewed.res with notepad or similar.

Ctrl+F to find the specific map you want.

Change the number adjacent to something greater than 50.

???

Profit.

It's usually dissappeared by the time I'm out the spawn door.

After you have played the map 50 times (and seen the message fifty times) it changes the default display time from 60 seconds to 3 seconds. Viewed.res is a counter file that records each map you have played and how many times you have played it.

Hate that message. Although last night when I played a new map I actually thought we were defending when we were attacking
