Now, the TF2 forums are as a whole full of useless bullshit and people who winge and moan and moan and moan and whinge and whine, you bloody pommes with your whinging and whining and whining and moaning, etc etc.

Anyway, I stumbled across This thread which is dedicated to playing TF2 matches with a twist.

I can't really see these working on a public server as there will always be someone who will spoil the fun. But for locked HH member matches, some of these could turn out to be pretty fun.

I would have posted this in the reg section buuutt... We all know how slow Gimpy is. :D

Some examples (pulled directly from said thread):

All scouts

All talk on, party-mode on. For humour value.
Map 2Fort.
Team balance, criticals and respawn timers disabled.
Zombies are scouts using only bats.
Survivors are sodliers using only shotguns. (no rj'ing or melee)
Works best on 2Fort with ~16 players.

Teams are 2 zombies and everyone else on survivors.
If a survivor dies (doesn't matter how) they change teams and respawn as a zombie.
If a zombie dies, they respawn immediately.
The survivors cannot heal or collect ammo.
If the survivors manage to cap the intel, they can all resupply (once) at spawn.

When there is only 1 survivor left (the uber-survivor(tm)), all restrictions are lifted and he can use any weapon. Also, when he dies, he gets an extra life as an 'uber-class(tm)'. This means, he can respawn and choose any class to try and make/complete another cap.

After the uber-survivor dies (which is inevitable) he choose one person from the zombie team to be his zombie buddy in the next round. The admin restarts and the team with 2 people (the uber-survivor and his zombie buddy) choose scouts, the other team is the survivors and all respawn as shotgun wielding sodliers.

Rinse and repeat. For maximum fun scream like a girl when you see a zombie, as it makes everyone panic."

Especially the L4D variante sounds like huge fun!! I wanna definitely try this out, maybe a public event?

Some very nice ideas if you don't want a serious game or are simply waiting for people to join.

Problem is that you'd need respawn timers, autobalance and crits off so it's best if it's organised really.

Maybe we could have a go at the zombie one in our regs match tonight?

I also recommend Demoman clay pigeon shooting, a game type stumbled upon by myself, Ares, FJack and r00k13 one evening.

On 2Fort, demoman 1 waits on the bridge. Demoman 2 stickyjumps himself toward the bridge, and Demoman 1 has to hit him midair with a nade. Simple but effective and improves you aim no end! :twisted:

Works on the sattelite point in hydro as well, is pretty fun.

Another mode me and spine played quickly is rocket racing, both go soldier take one step outside the spawn (works best on somethin like hyrdro where you can accidentally go the wrong way), and try and race your fellow soldier to the other point, now you can just run, but you can also rocket jump there which might get you there faster, problem is after about 4 your health is gone, so use em wisely. Pickups are allowed since they give you an extra rocket jump.
