Post Re: spray
ok it seems pretty much everyone is in favour of banning these sprays, so a couple of recommendations:

A> bare in mind that the people using these sprays won't see it as SUCH a big deal so dont come over as too agressive when talking to these people, just try and ask them as nicely and politely and tell them that its just server policy not to have them
B> we need to make sure people are aware we dont like them so this kind of thing needs to be put on the MOTD so people have a warning.
c> in order to find out who's spray is who, use the @menu command and go through the menu to find the "check people's spray" option.

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. They are a minor annoyance at best.
And animated ones can only have at the most 4 frames of animation, so unless you play at 4 fps, you can easily spot them as fakes. Especially seeing as it's easier to spot moving objects.

I agree with spiderbloke, I've only ever seen a sniper tag used, and even in the heat of battle you can clearly tell that it's just a spray image...

..I actually give credit to the person who thought this up, I mean isn't it just a clever way of using the rules of the game-world to give yourself an advantage? ... it happens all the time, wasn't uber-building the same before they made the medics charge quicker in setup time? ... or using teles as an early warning to when ppl are heading down for the intel?... I just figure it's part of the game...

That is also why they are a problem Spider. Anything that moves is a potential enemy, thus the confusion.
They should not be allowed.

These sprays I think are rather amusing, if not a little annoying!

I do like the 'FYI I Am a Spy' one though! Has its uses.

Or just tell them if they're going to use them don't put them in pain in the [Beep] Spots.

I've never had any problems seeing the difference between a spray and a real player, I don't see what the big deal is. They're just sprays, make your mistakes and learn from them, hell, I'd laugh at myself if I fell for it because it's pretty funny.

I think a consistent approach is probably best. Make the call!
