Post New Medic Class Tweak Revealed
Another post to a forum i was reading revealing the new tweak. A new medigun which instead of the over-buff wearing off doesent but is going to be dramaticly worse for buidling ubers and you will unlock it by completing the new medic achiemvents from what i grasped.

sounds interesting.. seems like VALVe are going to be rolling out unlockable weapons for all classes over the months to come.
i'm looking forward to the two new maps, badlands and goldrush..

Sounds interesting. I'm not all that excited about being an unlockable feature, as it seems to give newcomers a disadvantage. But then again, new playewrs problably will be busy with the features which are already present and it doesn't look as if the achievments are hard to get.

All in all, I'll be waiting until this feature is actually in the game and I've seen how well it works out before I'll make a judgement about it. So far, Valve has never disappointed me with any of their updates and I trust them to find the perfect balance for this idea.

Right now, I'm more interested in the Goldrush map that will be coming shortly. It's a fantastic idea that fits the style and gameplay of Team Fortress 2 and, if implemented correctly, could lead to even more players working together as a team in order to achieve the goal.

Goldrush sounds like flash_tank from DoD:S. And like the original TFC escort mode.

As for the new loadouts, I hope they spice things up a bit more. It's become too predictable, and even though there's 9 classes, there isnt enough variety. You see a Solly you know he's either going to rocket or shotgun you (spade if hes lucky). A wider array of weaponry might alleviate that.

Needing achievements to unlock them though? Only be any good if they are easy to get as the first set. Though looking at some of the medics new ones (killing a spy you healed, hardly ever happens. You wouldnt normally heal them if you thought they were a spy), they aren't going to be very friendly for the new people. Or me for that matter :?

These changes and new maps could really spice the game up, I just hope that they publish all of them within a small amount of time, othervise it'll be a bit, well, slow. And it could wreck a portion of the gameplay, everyone playing the class that has new weapons at the moment etc...

The new game mode is a blatent rip of Enemy Territory. The basic map, infact the demo map is escort the tank.

Wheres hunted ffs. Screw this ripping other people off, give us what was original in TFC. Or because Hunted spawned CS is that solely the domain of the serial camper these days?

I want the fat head back. Brolly kills were the most awesome thing ever - the original melee crown.

Thanks for the post Ares. I'm mostly looking forward to some new maps.. getting a bit bored of the current ones. Hopefully they'll be better than 2fort! :)

That was my first thought too, just from seeing the name of the map. It was a good level on ET though, and a TF2 conversion sounds interesting. It would be nice if they owned up to that of course!

As for the new medic-gun... The more I think about it the more I think it shouldn't build uber at all... Would make the choice alot more strategic- Do you want many players boosted to Very high health? Or focus on one player and Uber?

Yeah that's what I think, it should be a tactical choice between supporting everyone or supporting one person for a quick fast push

Yeah, I think it should have no uber, as imagine 3 heavies with 600 health each and som ubered class as well, I can see some exploiation as people will get everybody to 200% health in setup and then change gun and get an uber aswell.

As for the other weapon i think it will be the opposite, ubers twice as fast as ussual but on heals to 100% or maybe a new bonesaw which chops peoples body parts off. :D
