I went on a server earlier today (hh was full again) and they were running the most marvelous mod I think I've ever come across. Basically it adds a party mode in which all of the players wear party hats. But that's not all. Whenever you kill someone they don't die in a shower of blood and giblets. Instead it's a shower of balloons, streamers, prezzies and toys of various types accompanied by the sound of party hooters! I thought this would be great to run on our server over the Christmas Period. What do you think?

Well I had no performance hit whatsoever on a 24 man 2fort game on my mid range system. It just simply replaces one effect for another. Oh well just thought I'd mention it because it was such a well implemented fun mod.

Old TFC used to do this for 24 hours on christmas day...kind of like an easter egg.

You used to fire crackers instead of rockets, throw presents instead of grenades and all sorts of christmassy sound effects took over. There was a way to launch it from console, cant remember now. Anyway, I think this all went when the TF1.5 patch came out. Was quality though .

Well the plugin is so tiny (2.96kb) I'm guessing it's simply unlocks just such an easter egg as you mention but for TF2.

Yes, the models for the effects are already within the game. My brother was searching around in hammer editor and found them.
