It runs with alltalk crits and has a more laid back atmosphere than HH1 which is why according to gamestats it also runs a lot less 5pointcp maps making it the idea candidate for a new map rotation or a reduction in 5pointcp maps which seem to clear out the server more than any other game type.
Isn't that because its open to the quick play thing by Valve?
Anyway bro, the reason ppl are gettin pissy is cos it seems like you want to hijack a populated server with your own map choices. As others have said, if there are enough people that want what you do, and if you want it enough to put some effort in then there is the Reg server.

I'm not trying to hijack the server what im trying to propose is a server with a more laid back atmosphere.

Re: [Suggestion] Map changes.
Surely laid back-ness is caused by the people playing and possibly alltalk, not the maps being played?
If it's really laid back then people might not care what map they're playing anyway
Sam, I think it's a combo of what Vier is suggesting and the alltalk/crits thing too.
Personally I'm in favour of Viers suggestions here. It was great listening to SophID helping a newb out on the server the other day, and listening to his (somewhat vitriolic) enthusiasm, so making HH2 a more chilled place seems wise. When you consider the server was largely dead until the F2P update, then using it as a place to attract and encourage these sorts of players makes sense.

If HH2 runs a lot less 5cp maps than other servers, then how is there a problem with too many 5cp maps being played? They're played because people vote for them.
If the real issue is too many 5cp maps being played on HH2, then you should have said so from the beginning - it's taken about 3 or 4 pages before actually explaining into it. If it were a problem there are many ways it could be tackled without enforcing a bad maplist rotation (eg. not putting 5cp maps into the mapvote if one is currently being played, or not having 5cp maps in the mapvote if two 5cp maps have just been played).
If you want us to believe that 5cp maps empty that particular server more often than other gametypes, you're welcome to persuade us by doing some research yourself. The graphs Gametracker doesn't seem to be precise enough with the timing so you'll have to find another way to track the player numbers. You could setup a macro/autohotkey script to refresh and save the HH2 page on Gametrackers every 15 minutes, collect the data and make a graph in Excel that shows activity over three days and then show which maps had been played next to the graph. Then come back and present your findings in this thread, and we'll have an accurate picture of which maps empty the server, if any do at all. If it turns out there's a real problem then we can discuss what we can do about it, which certainly doesn't have to be a strict map rotation.
You should have done that before starting this thread, instead you marched in with a maplist without any explanation of why it is better.
Some stats from last two full days on HH2: Less than a third (28%) of maps played are 5cp More than half (54%) of maps played are payload The rest are attack/defence with a few ctf maps.
Instead of asking to resurect maps from the dead that are proven to be disliked by the old guard and previous new players (after a few rating resets), why not head out there and look for custom maps with a high rating and a nice bit of polish then come back here suggesting we add them to the list.
But have in mind, people don't want to download a map most of the time and so they will leave reguardless of how epic a map is.
Yeah but still, what has chilled got to do with the maps?
Basically if you have those maps you'll exclude a pretty sizable chunk of regular HH players. We'll still have HH1, but why split up the community . HH2 seems to be doing just fine with its current map pool anyway, why fix whats not broke?

This, if it ain't broke why try fixing it. With a fix that would be unpopular with a lot of our core community members.
Having the servers be able to be played on by a wide selection of people and tastes is far more preferable to segregating us into separate servers, where at all possible.
This is why this suggestion is fundamentally flawed. It would only be a step backwards.
