Here is some examples:

Custom skins and models are good fun but remember they are used for cheating as well. League games will use sv_pureserver 2 which will ban all custom stuff even sprays!
If you have replaced original models or sounds with custom ones you might get banned! Just something to keep in mind.

What about sprays do we have to remove them from our files aswell ? Removed my bloody bonesaw skin at any rate

nah the way it works with pure server 2 is that the game forces you to use the default skins models and sounds and disables sprays. If those original models/skins/sounds have been altered it will simply not allow you on the server. I haven't looked in how custom skins work in tf2 but as long as the original stuff is on disk and unaltered it shouldn't be a problem.

In pubs you can use what you want and when on a pure server it will be disabled automatically.

I can't recommend skinning (up ) enough, have every single weapon and player skinned.
The terminator heavy looks amazing and some of the weapons eg the gangster scattergun (loads of engraving and scrolling on the barrels) adds some needed detail to what can be some pretty boring standard loadouts.
It can take some getting used to though, some of the skins make it difficult to tell friend from foe at a distance

I tried a balisong butterfly knife reskin, didnt like it though, it didnt cloak like everything else, so it looked kinda weird...

I tried that too. You could see the knife while you were cloaked. It looked really stupid.

I wouldn't reccommend any skin that doesn't have at least a 9.0 rating on fps banananananana It was probably just a poorly made skin. I use the swiss army knife skin and that works fine.
