Personally, sucks to be you crosses my mind when a Demoman manages to sneak past all the defenses and literally catch you with your pants down as you walk out the door, I would say the same for a Sniper watching the door from afar, or someone walking into a Heavy's fat hairy chest with a Medic behind him ready to unleash hell with an Uber, or four sentries built outside the spawn door, it's all the same in reality.

But so long as the other team has a fighting chance to thwart this tactic, and the tactic that is outclassing the other team is not disobeying the server rules, then it's all good. As previously said, some players are professional enough to outdo this tactic.

Fair play is Fair. It's all rainbows and unicorns from here on. =)

Each situation is individual, if a player is deliberately denying people anything other than a face full of stickies every time they try to leave spawn then this should be discouraged, if this is repeatedly ignored then possible kicks/bans/slap in the mush may incur, but this will be for defiance! not spawn camping. Thats not to say anyone is trying to control the way people play as such but i'm sure we can all agree its better to not have the kind of players that will actively continue to do something that is spoiling the fun for x amount of people.

On the other hand its fair game cause you cant really do it....or have things changed?

Just to ramble on a bit there is nothing wrong with say popping a few stickies outside red spawn as the 2nd point on goldrush is being capped, I also dont think theres anything wrong with taking the fight to spawn on any valve map really, the problem can lie in custom maps more or at least with an imbalance in teams, which does happen and its at that point you have to walk away ,go back to your team and get involved in some gg

I don't believe if its allowed that the server will suddenly be flooded with people that just spawncamp or that it'll get so bad that all the new players will leave. I've spawncamped on HH ever since I started playing here. No admin has ever asked me to stop, I can't even recall anybody complaining. I mean, most payload maps start with one team spawncamping the other...

So imo most of the time spawncamping isn't griefing, and IF it becomes griefing then you deal with it as such.
