Am I the only one feeling that the stats are really really biast towards spy and sniper?
Playing soldier you can have a 10:1 K:D ratio, really making a difference for the team, yet you only gain a few points at best (assuming you're ranked rather high to begin with). Ofc it depends who you play against, and their level on the ranking.
But even with a 2:1 K:D ratio, or worse then that you can really get so many points by playing sniper/spy. Doesn't really matter if you help you're team or not. The bonus points for backstab and hs is should be removed all together to begin with.
It's the primary weapons of the classes, not at all more difficult or skillful then getting a rocket launcher kill, flamethrower kill or scattergun kill. 2 points extra for the hs is really much, considering a hs-kill is probably more common then the bodyshot-kill.
Not really. I've played sniper, spy and soldier for a good while now. And I'm really positive that it's way easier to maintain and boost your stats at sniper and spy.
And, when trying to cap and move forward you help the team way more then you (generally) do as spy or sniper.
Another thing about the stats. As headshots don't count as crits (in the stats) neither should a backstab. Often backstab award = Crit kills.
It's not a perfect system, just like the in game scoring system. You may feel better disabling the text messages and just look at the webpage's stats occasionally. Or do what I do and play for daily awards in as many different weapons as possible.

I sort of agree actually. With snipers I think the main benefit they have in terms of stats is that they simply dont die very often if they're half decent.
You could also make a case for the engineer being an easy class to get points fo, especially when using the wrangler. Those SGs go up and down so quickly that you could farm points fast if that's the way you wanted to play.
And as Medic you will always get points for assists, the MVP bonus, and you don't die often. Easy points... It's not balanced. But who cares about points?

Maybe, bar the fact you dont get points for building SG's any more after someone kept doing it

They are not biased. They're just shit. HLX_stats are terrible. This is known.

Having played a fair bit of sniper in my time, even getting MVP#3 is hard for me, so I don't agree with that point.

Snipers get a bad rap in games generally, but in TF2 they seem to be hated. which is why i play them- troll face To get a headshot you have to aim for a point considerably smaller than the target in question. This requires skill. HLX_Stats is simply attempting to reward skill.
On a slightly different note...
A while back I also ran into your problem. That is I found the HLX_Stats poorly represented the skilled players compared to less-skilled players. I found HLX_Stats points were weighted unfairly/stupidly (specifically the time spent playing statistic). So I came up with my own weighting equation (very rough)
I took the Top10 data from HH#1 as an example data set. I biased the data for Comp/DM statistics. Here is the Excel file if anyone wants to see it. ---> EXCEL FILE
My weighting was rough, but went something like this: Kills/Deaths 40.00% Kill+Assits/D 15.00% Accuracy 15.00% Point Caps 7.50% Point Cap Block 7.50% MVP1 5.00% MVP2 5.00% MVP3 5.00% Fair play if your still reading The results are displayed in a table at the bottom of the excel sheet. I found it to be a far better representation of players in terms of aptitude and skill compared to the HLX_Stats version.
I created this thinking it would be cool to use an equation similar to this in conjunction with the MySQL HLX_Stats database to render a Top10 List for the internal HH community. Just for shits and giggles Maybe Frog would consider it
