You were on HH2 with me when there was a 3 map straight stackathon on Sunday or Monday afternoon. It was pretty disgraceful, although you were with me against the odds each time.

Re: Radical suggestion - team stacking
Have to say I'm with Vickery on this one. It does happen, and frequently. Disabling the ability to select a team would be a good thing. On the other hand, what's the odds on all the "good" players being assigned the same team? Sod's law it will happen.

There are even regs that stack and when they are losing they switch teams again, just to win. It's so frickin' lame and retarded (Hello Zaratul, the Most Awesome Player In The World ).
I always autoassign myself because I don't really care about joining the weaker team. But I like to join the team that is against the stackers, purely because of the ability to kill them. I think there should be a less kill ratio difference between the teams in order to scramble players and then team switching for all players that were present at the server would be disabled.
But you can't really watch all the players all the time. At least the regs and above should keep the teams balanced. At least it's in the regs' code.
I fully agree with this. Not as much for HH1, but team stacking on HH2 is definitely an issue. For me, the most fun games are those with 2 more or less equally skilled teams. Team stacking is very annoying when you're on the losing team, but even on the winning team it breaks the fun. I do understand that 2 friends may just want to play together, but having an option for teamswitch should be sufficient for that.
Of course, there are other reasons for steamrolls : - stupid people (seems to be getting worse) - poor class selection - having me on the team
But I guess you can't ban stupid people, I hate class limits, and I'm not soliciting to get banned for being such a bad player.
I actually find it amazing that when a team loses 3 rounds within 10 minutes, continually whines about stacking, but doesn’t suggest a vote scramble.
Sometimes a scramble does wonders, though, you just need to have the right players switched. But thats where the problem lies: you can't just say that switching player X who's on top of the scoreboard for RED will have him perform the same way on BLU. It's a matter of teamwork after all. But then, if a team is really steamrolling despite a decent class constellation of the other team, and nobody switches/leaves the server, you don't have much other choice than to scramble. I dont know how much the scrambling-percentage is, but on some servers I know its at about 75%, which is simply a mere re-locating of most of the players, theres no real mix up; should be at around 50% imho (correct me if Im wrong or fail to see something elementary)
I think I’ve seen a percentage flash up in the chat log when I scramble is completed, normally around 60% from what I recall. Scramble works by assigning players by points, which usually means a medic to each team by default.
And Fluff – that’s totally down to classes still tho tbh, bad class picks will always cause a steam roll.
Personally, if I’m on a map I hate get scrambled away from someone I’m medicing (and trust) then there’s a good chance I’ll go a different class and practice that rather than spend 20 minutes trying to heal people that will either RJ away or not use kritz’s. but that’s just me!
