Just a suggestion: would it be possible to make F1 'Don't Care' or 'Abstain'? Because the vote box is huuuge (and not transparent like the lovely sourcemod one we used to have). It takes up a massive chunk of your screen on pretty much every HUD including the default one.

And sometimes you just want it to go away because you're about to get ubered or something, and seeing the left side of your screen is quite important... But at the same time you don't want to risk voting for Doublecross, so you have to pause, read the options, then select one and wait for the box to disappear. And then vote again a few seconds later.

If you could just get rid of the box, and all subsequent voting boxes, by pressing F1, and move the map choices to F2-F6 it would make it a lot better IMO. Right now I just mash my hand on the F keys and hope that it fucks off.
Sorry, no, that is not possible, also Valve's built-in vote system is limited to F1-F5.

It's not exactly massive relative to the rest of the screen, and you do get a countdown before the vote. 2 seconds or less is all it takes to read the options and press a button.

Also doublecross has only been voted for up once in the whole of the last 7 days.

Luckily the vote box is easy to make transparent. transparent vote box for TF2

Fantastic, and this works with the sourcemod extension for the map vote too? Could you, or anyone, create a screenshot of the transparent map vote with this hud mod, please.

I hope it works. I tried yesterday and today to be on the server until the map vote would show up but in both cases it had passed already and I couldn't be bothered to stay longer. Will test later tonight once one of the servers fill up. :]

Yes, it works! Nice one, Linc :)

The resource file is also available at http://www.thehh.co.uk/votehud
(I've added a chat advert on the TF2 servers referencing this URL.)

Here is an easy installer that I've put together for it, for anyone that is either too lazy or doesn't know how. :)

We just had a rather bad mapvote pop up on HH2 while a few of us where trying to cap which got me thinking that it might be a good idea to force the mapvote to happen during setup between maps.

This would prevent the game being disrupted in any meaningful way, and would keep the pop up out of our faces when we have other things to concentrate on (BCAP)

I'm sure Frog will correct me (wrong or not! :P ) but the vote either comes up at about 5 mins left on the timer, after the team swap on payload or after 5 - x rounds on 5CP maps, there might be a few tweaks to this due to certain maps etc

Doing it at setup may be difficult if its still 0-0 on a 5cp map...

I don't know how the timing works at all at the moment, or indeed if a different way of timing it is possible.

I don't know, but having the map vote happen during downtime seems to make sense, if not between maps then perhaps at the start of an appropriate round?
