Post subject:  HH 2nd Team - New Team Leader Required

So the HH 2nd team has been inactive for far to long now. This is mostly due to my lack of drive and commitment. The current roster on ETF2L is full of people willing to be back-up but not willing to commit to regular practice and official matches.

HH2 has always been about having a team consisting mainly of regs or members of the community. People who are new to comp tf2 are most welcome as long as they can put in the time required to play and learn, and as long as they represent the HH in a positive light. It is not about having a team that brings in top players that are nothing to do with us.

So with this in mind I am looking for someone to take over the running of the team. The ideal candidate would -

1. Be a member or reg.
2. Have previous experience in 6v6 comp TF2 although this is by no means essential.
3. Have the time to organise matches and practice.
4. Have a friendly and fair minded personality.
5. Recruit other team members primarily from the ranks of the HH, and not recruit players who are already known for their rage-like or troll-like behaviour.

I will be happy and willing to help whoever takes on this responsibility to get started. I can help with IRC (finding practice matches), the ETF2L website, give advice/help on comp play (also have someone in mind who has already said they will be willing to help with this) and anything else I can do. As has already been said, there are already a number of players on the roster who can be back-up and have experience in comp to lend a helping hand.

Please feel free to put yourself forward, or discuss this topic freely.

Best of luck -HH²- :vuvuzela:

Is the first team still active at all? Hitoshura to me is like some kind of ghostly figure who is only ever seen places and never encountered...

Nah we don't play much TF2 anymore. It's mostly LoL/Dota these days. Running a team takes more time then you might think tho so whoever is interested in the position should definitely be commited.

I know what you mean, I led one of the Insane Dutch Killers squads through a season last year after not volunteering to be leader and it was a pain. Hopefully HHers will also see the effort Efrath's been putting into the Highlander team and also how much they're getting out of it!

Just curiosity, what div would that be? And when does the matches usually happens? Afternoon? Evening? :)

Matches are set up by the 2 team captains, that can be any day at any time that suits both teams but rounds need to be played by a certain date, we normally played on sundays at 7 - 8 ish but there was a few weekday matches.

We got promoted back to div 5 the last time we played (season 10?), but we've missed subsequent seasons so we'd be back in 6 (afaik).

But ofc i could be completely wrong about that. :)

Well depends on the skill level of the team. You can apply to join any division apart from the high ones, however, due to inactivity you probably wouldn't be accepted to anything higher than div 5, unless you provide demos that show you defeating teams in the higher divisions from pcw's/tournaments. If the team members are mostly inexperienced at comp, I'd definitely start at div 6. Absolutely no shame in that and a good place to learn the ropes.

I never played in comp. and i don't now if i could cope with those kind of skill levels, but I'd gladly help out at least for practice sessions or something if you are short of a soldier or medic sometimes.
