Caught a bit on the BBC tech news today. Gabe Newell says that Windows 8 will be a disaster for PC Gamers.

Caught this bit at the end of the article:

One harbinger of this future was perhaps found, he said, in the success of one Team Fortress player in Kansas who was earning $150,000 (£97,000) a year making virtual hats.

Not a bad little earner if you ask me !

If he's getting that much, imagine how much Valve get from all their hat sales.

No wonder they can't be bothered to fix bugs. If each employee did nothing but produce one item/hat per day they'd still be rich.

I think he means because hats drop so rarely and even if you play 20 hours per week it still takes multiple weeks to gather up the metal to craft a hat, and even then you probably won't get the one you want.

Thus, your only realistic option is to buy it. (Excluding trading rings/sites etc.)

Nah I'm making fun of the people who raged about having to pay for hats.
They acted like they were being forced to do so.
