Post WTF scouts
As I mostly play a Pyro I have a lot of problems with scouts as I have no real defense to the wee little fookers. One guy constantly one shots me if i'm caught out in the open so I thought I'd check out his stats, he has a 475% accuracy rating in the last 28 days WTF!

I guess pyros are the easiest targets for scouts - they stay out of range of any flames and just pyros off at a distance (in my experience anyway).

I have noticed lately the 'swarm' tactic of 2-3 scouts relentlessly pursuing a weak class almost every round, ignoring primary aims like capture points etc. I often see scouts abandoning a capture or the cart if they see me isolated only to be killed by a teammate arriving on the scene.

As a medic I'm always attaching myself to a combat class so when the swarm comes I'm ready for it, so it all seems a bit pointless really. As long as the team is balanced with a mixture of classes it's not really a problem, and it rarely happens with a full server.

Stay alert, try not to be isolated and you're gold. :D

Yeah I know but I looked at the stats of peeps that are in the top 50 on the server and the highest ive seen for weap accuracy is around 60%, this guy has 475%!

I hate the scout's primary so much... It's damaging to no end to spies.

You need to learn the zen of fighting scouts young dysfunction, for only when you truely understand your weaknesses , you can turn them into strengths for dealing with the pesky little fookers.


Ok ... out in the open with room to move around... pyro vs scout you can forget about it, Mr Flamey aint gonna do squat, and the best you can hope for is picking them off with the shotty, or maybe a lucky flare.

So..... move the fight indoors... or into a corner somewhere and use burn-puff-cremate on them.
If you airblast them into a wall it stops them dead, then they drop down inside the range of the flames... but they are faster and will take off like a rat up an aqueduct... so move diagonally with the strafing to keep them in the flames a bit longer.... dont forget afterburn does 60 damage... you do the other 40 and we're looking at a deep fried scout.
Use ambush.. use the run away technique, out think your enemy and no longer will you be afraid of the scout.

Yeah, LOS them (don't leave yourself exposed at open spaces), draw them to you and use degreaser, flare and axetinguisher. Note that good scouts jump when you airblast them, so just wait for the jump (they can jump only with their second jump, third if using Atomizer IIRC) and then axetinguish them or shoot them with a flare (with some practice you are able to hit them pretty easily). {FT}

Or do it Jobe's way, airblast them and kill them easily with reserve shooter :P

ANYTHING is damaging to spies.
The whole point is not to get caught.
It's the one class where you are supposed to avoid damage at all costs.

If you are constantly a target by Scouts, you are a bad Spy.
