Is there something wrong with the map voting system atm?

It's just that every time it comes up, it lists awful maps which don't get picked, and then those awful maps keep coming up in subsequent map votes, cp_standin has just come up 3 times in a row now over the last 3 maps.

Theres a lot of maps that no one wants to ever play, could they not be removed from the server?

I agree a few maps should be removed from the pool e.g. standin, hightower, they occupy a slot in the vote that a better map could have instead.

Oh this topic. :)

Please supply the definitive list of bad default stock maps that have dared to appear in a vote, and if the majority agrees on the list, then they will vanish.

The only ones I can think of that are still on the server and are widely disliked are be standin and hightower, so not really a big deal. Generally the maps that are played on HH2 are very good.

On a somewhat related note, I seem to recall the vote being set up so that there's always a 5CP map in there- cp_steel doesn't really count. It apparently does, though, as far as the vote is concerned; wondering if that could be changed.

Distinctly remember a vote 4 or 5 days ago that looked something like:
1. pl_something
2. cp_steel
3. cp_gorge
4. pl_whatever
5. Can't remember for the life of me, but fairly sure it wasn't 5CP.

Just figured it's probably an oversight with steel- it's AttackDefend-CP, not 5CP.
Then again my memory has been lacking and this could be entirely wrong. Maybe #5 was something like cp_serverclearer, uh, I mean, cp_well.

I don't mind the occasional pl. Not every map has to be 5CP. But lately the votes offer 3 or 4 pl maps and cp_standin all the time.

Aside from adding the new stock maps and a couple of custom maps, nothing has changed at all in map vote setup for more than 10 months. So it's weird that there is something to take issue with recently.

I don't recall, in last 2 years, HH2 having a config that forced a 5CP map every vote. Although HH3 was once a 5CP only server, but the people that requested it didn't bother playing on there for longer than a week.

There would never have been a vote with more than 2 PL maps.

This is the current config, with plr_highlander and cp_standin removed.
