I think Telgor has the best solution. If Henchling agrees not to change his name on the server, then we should go with it.

I honestly never knew taunting was this divisive. :?

I've noticed that, generally speaking, people don't like/read "wall of text" posts, so the concise sentences were intentional. Any inflection you may have read them with are your own.

I didn't name anyone, but don't you think the post would have moved from vague into downright obtuse territory if I didn't add that?

Nonetheless, I appreciate the divergence into grammatical critique, Quest.

Saying green hat is no different from naming them.

Incorrect.

If the reader knows the reference, it is.

If they don't, then it isn't.

Maybe the Green-Hairs are notorious enough to be known throughout Europe. If so, I apologise.

That seems like an awfully trivial thing to point out, Sam.

To be fair. Providing someone asks nicely then for being social's sake at least we should encourage people to stop doing it.
But to go any further would just be down to how you take it i think. Its just an animated wave in the end rly.

I'd have green hair if only I had some green paint. :(

More seriously

The taunting is not aimed at you in particular, it happens to everyone, all it does to me is make me want to seek immediate and painful revenge on the taunter.

However.... Since you asked, I wont taunt you as and when (and if) I manage to kill you
Heck 9 times out of 10 I'm far too busy to stand around for 5 seconds making a fool out of myself... unlike those blasted time on their hands snipers who shoot you from 300 miles away [strangle]

I'm beginning to think that people look at a thread title, draw conclusions, then reply based solely on that.

I don't spend much time on forums, maybe that's just how they work.

As long as Olshi, Ellery, Dazed, and Zerged had a good laugh about it on the server today. That's the best I could realistically hope for.

Please keep posts civil.

The only solution I can see is for people not to constantly taunt Henchling and for Henchling not to change his name so people know not to taunt him. Can everyone involved agree on this? If this isn't acceptable to all then please suggest something else in a constructive manner.

I'm fine with this suggestion. In fact I already tried to realize it since some weeks. But as I wrote in my previous post, it still can happen that I taunt henchling, because of inattention or him changing his name.

I guess if henchling agrees to have a recognizable name and I pay a little more attention when taunting it could work out (at least concerning me, don't know what other "taunters" attitude towards this solution is)

I still don't think that indoctrinating people into the idea that indiscriminately taunting everyone you meet is healthy for any server.

When people say "I've been doing it for years, you should be OK with it by now", all I hear is "I've been an a**hole for years, deal with it".

Plus, I didn't create this thread so I could be made out to be some fragile little boy who can't handle being taunted - To focus on this is to severely miss the point, though I'm sure it will be the enduring legacy.

We can't enforce any rules regarding taunting on the server if you are the only who has reported this as a problem on the server. We need a bigger sample to understand this issue and if it is actually hurting the server in any meaningful way.
