Seems like there was a sale just a few weeks ago. For anyone who's not familiar with the way the sales work here's a simple flow chart.
Games i recommend from what i own / have played.
State of Decay is a steal for £3.74
Sniper Elite 3 is a very fun game for £20 it's worth it, though I've only played it one PS3 so I'm not sure if the port is any good.
Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, launched with the sale today and has been given glowing PC port reviews, playtime mileage is a little on the low side but for £11.38 I'd say it's worth it (just bought it myself).
Civ Beyond Earth, Iv'e enjoyed what little I played of it but my opinion and the general consensus is that it's not as good as Civ5 with all the Expansions, I don't own it yet but for £17.99 I'm considering it.
Rome 2, Not as good as Rome TW IMO and had a rough launch. But now i'd consider it a very competent game and at £7 it's hard not to recommend if you like the genre.

Nothing in the current top sales that tickles my fancy, but undoubtedly I will spend a load of money on games that will just end up on my "To Play" list.

Thinking about getting MGS5. Never really played any MGS games before but I really want to get into the series. I think I should play through the other games first though.

As a fanboy (god i hate that term lol) i can safely say you can just enjoy GZ as a stealth game and pay little or no attention to the plot or story, it's very sandbox'y if you just want to do your own thing. Unfortunately if you want to get into the series overall story you need to do a lot of catching up cause it spans 16 years and is very very self indulgent constantly referencing previous and upcoming games, sadly it's also very spoiler filled if you play games out of order. Ground Zeroes for example is a direct follow on from Peace Walker and wreaks that games plot from the start .
If you are interested in starting from the beginning and working through the series.
MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4 , MGS:Peace walker and then Ground Zeroes is the order you should go by.
But like i said, Ground Zeroes stands up as a very fun game on it's own and having played about half hour of the pc port i can also say it's very good.
Going to grab Freedom Planet, I have a soft spot for old Sonic games and this is the best looking Sonic game in the last twenty years.
Also got my eye on Beyond Earth but I think I will wait longer on this one, no rush.
NEO Scavenger is something I'm keeping my eye on too, I have heard some very positive things about it but it's newly released and doubt it'll hit the sales soon.
And CS:GO is apparently also now on the hitlist.

Nothing really takes my fancy this time apart from the Metro Redux bundle - I was surprised how much I enjoyed 2033 so I'm looking forward to how the enhanced version plays.
I was also looking at Farming Simulator 15 until I slapped myself and came to my senses. Apologies to any budding virtual farmers at HH.
Just a heads up, Metal Gear Rising: Revengence (w/e), that hack and slash fighting game in an arkham style which received a lot of praise universally.
80% off, came out last year and you can pick it up for £4.
It's not my kind of game at all but if you are interested in that kind of game it's suppose to be one of the best and it's probably not gonna get much cheaper.

Looks like I'll be spending the festive period underneath Moscow dodging mutants.
I might have to fend them off with the turkey leftovers and stale mince pies.
