+ Great single player with interesting dynamic gameplay. The open ended approach to mission completion works well and having the customisable weapons and suit add heaps to the genre. - Multiplayer, IMO, not all that great. It's not that the concept is flawed, but its execution is sloppy. I found it incredibly difficult to actually kill anyone, and death usually comes by way of three main methods: grenade spam, claymores, or being shot at from someone half a mile away. Was I crap because I'm a "noob"? Maybe, but then you'd be miffed if you were killed by an smg, from the other side of the map. And the nades and claymores just seem like a cheap option. They are far too small to see properly, and the first thing you know about them is when your waiting to respawn. The whole prestige system is a bit flawed too. You never seem to have enough when you need it. Also doesnt help that the most basic weaponry costs an arm and a leg. Essentially it's like playing Battlefield 2, complete with your team mates running you over, only you have to buy everything.
So basically, great game, but as it stands the multiplayer isnt going to give Valve any sleepless nights. Needs a patch and some balance changes.
And remember this is just my opinion.

Re: Opinions of Crysis
Bioshock all over again tbh.
And bioshock sucks...just a system shock 2 rip off now that is a good game.

Re: Opinions of Crysis
Firstly the graphics in Crysis are amazing and they do live up to all the hype. I enjoyed the first half of Crysis hunting down Koreans and admiring the islands. However I think it went down hill when after the low gravity level as it just ended up running round like a headless chicken shooting squidlike aliens ...

Sorry Rabbit I disagree with ALL of that excpet System shock 2 being good and having a similar plot (tho i preffered 1)
Crysis has a sandbox-style element to it - Bioshock is far more linear (tho there's many rooms and sections that are your choice to explore or not). Weapon systems in Bioshock are customisable I guess, the pistol looks awesome when u strap all that kit to the side. I love slamming a bunch of prox-mines onto a barrel or peice of debris, picking it up with TK, then hurling it as an improvised bomb... sublime stuff imo.
Bioshock is a corridor based underwater adventure. Crysis is a Far-cry esque outdoor environment with vehicles.
Crysis is very much a 'gung ho', future-military-aliens type game. Bioshock is more deep, creepy survival horror really.
Though both have brilliantly written storylines, the amazing audio diaries in Bioshock convey the story; in crysis we have cut scenes that explain the action. Both the games have strong plots but are far from similar.
They both, however, look great and have great singleplayer appeal. Id really suggest actually playing the games through before you write them off totally! you might be surprised- I for one thought you'd like Bioshock.
The Crysis single-player is great, the nano suit feels refreshing (For a short time), and the weapon adjustments make it fun to snipe and shoot.
Multiplayer? I'll keep it short: It could've been much, much much better.

Re: Opinions of Crysis
I enjoyed the single player. I have not played a single player game since half-life 2 so I don't know what the competition is like but I thoroughly enjoyed the single player and I am currently replaying it in Delta from time to time. The suit modes are refreshing but the system of changing the power-ups was cumbersome.
The engine is superb, I spent moments just admiring the scenery rather than emptying bullets into things. A beautiful game.
I will echo everyone elses sentiment on the multiplayer, it was largely disappointing and recently full of cheats. I went to 5 different servers recently and each had someone using a cheat to 1shot people. I have not even bothered trying it again since and this is a reminder of why I dont buy single player games often, once the easy content is beaten its just another box on the shelf.
