I loved mgs from day one, i have all the mgses that came out on the playstation or ps2, and twin snakes (spiderbloke is right, it is awesome and snake is WAY more agile, its like someone took all the decent bits out of the matrix and and mixed it with the awesomeness that was mgs1, take for example the scene in which snake shoots down a chopper
MGS original: chopper blows up snake turns and does the cheesy "that takes care of the cremation" line.
MGS TTS: Chopper fires a missile at snake, snake jumps ONTO the missile backflips off it, and fires his own stinger missile, killing the chopper
Dialogue isnt as good in TS though, dead reading is aplenty, but steven blum got added to the voice cast making the soldiers excellent ^_^)
Anyways, mgs4, you will NEED to have pld the previous ones if mgs2 was any indicator. even mgs3 which was a prequel still had a lot of references to mgs1, so be a good idea to play them, i wish i had a ps3 i could really do with a dose of more MGS...
Metal Gear? No thanks. I prefer to play my games rarther than press a few buttons, watch a 20min cut-scene, press a few buttons, watch another 20min cut-scene etc....
I'll be honest, MGS 1 was the best in my opinion. It had the best use of Snake and his awesomeness of being so damn good at what he does. MGS 2 kind of ruined it by making you play Raiden, and who wants to play as a girl with a penis? MGS 3 was okay, but I don't reckon it made Snake look any cooler then Sam Fisher. MGS 4 looks very shiny with all its new interaction with the surroundings and new gadgets and weaponry compared to the other MGS. But he's bloody old -_- Oh but he does have an eye-patch. I suppose we'll see.
