My advice...

IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT.

Bought it when it came out, and started racing my way through my entire music collection. It's hella fun, sorta a mix between F-Zero, Rez and Klax (all of which are games I love). With basically infinite different levels and loads of different modes to play each of those infinite levels in...

God damn, why haven't you bought it already!? It's freakin' $10!

And it has multiple difficulty levels, so don't worry about it being too easy. It's ridiculous at the harder modes. But also, some songs are just plain harder than others.

And I didn't click on that Youtube video... I know what that was, sneaky. I've used it on people myself.

I found it to be a completely shallow reaction game that bored me to death after a few days.

Post Re: Audiosurf
yeah its a good game. havent got the final realse but managed to get the beta and played with that for a while. Its good fun to see some tracks. A lot depends on your kind of musical preference. So the game can drastically change from a leisurely drive to a horrible roller coaster downward spiral to your death. Not all songs make good tracks tho. The difficulty changes alot depending not only on the track but also on the driver you choose. Is it worth getting? well...its not the best game in the world and the longevity at times is questionable. But if you like music and like games and have a fiver to spend then yeah go for it. Its like playing a couple of games of solitare between tf2 games with music.

Worth the price but the intial novelty doesn't last long. Good for a quick blast though now and again.

Can be insanely difficult with fast songs at a hard setting.

I've played Frequency and Amplitude on the PS2. And Audiosurf seems to basically have the same idea.

But I've wondered about the controls. Do you just move your mouse along the tracks and click the blocks when you hit them? Because that sounds a bit boring to me.

No it's way worse than that. Move mouse side to side, avoid grey blocks, hit coloured blocks. No need to click anything. There may be more in other modes but it was too torturous for me to bother trying.
