Post CS:S 1/2 Price
This weekend CS:S only costs half of the normal price.
Just thought I'd mention it, for 9.99$ it's almost worth the money.

Yeah I just saw they announced it in the update-news thingy making this thread obsolete.

So I'll use this thread to let you know Im taking a longer break from TF2, reached the point where I just cant play it anymore. Perfect timing, just got my imported, uncensored version -.-

Don't think Ill spare you with my presence on the forums though :P

I was really pissed when I saw this. The day before the offer began, I was going to buy a game on Steam. I saw CS:S but I only had 10 euro so I went with Garry's Mod. Damn!!!!!

It's not a good game anyway. :?
Crappy hitboxes and netcode (I just spray and pray and it works), you move around like someone's repeatedly punching you in the nuts, more 12 y/o crybabies playing it than TF2, the weapons feel -and sound- like crap (in 1.6 you could almost physically feel the recoil with some weapons [deagle for example], in CS:S it all just feels like you're squeezing a sponge or something), etc.

I played it twice since I bought it a few months ago (just had to try it after playing 1.6 for many years), quit both times cuz all servers I tried that didnt have a gazillion retarded sound files to DL first were hax0r-infested.

Dunno bout you but that doesnt sound like a game that I wanna play, Garrys Mod at least wont be frustrating (well...not as much :P).

I'd immediately transfer my CS:S cd-key to your account if that was possible but last time I checked it can't be done, especially since I bought it via steam.

Can't help but agree with fluffy on some of those points. The weapons do feel so underpowered that it effects the way you play the game. Skins can help that though.
Last time I tried it I wounded 2 people

2 wounds. No kills. Multiple deaths.

That said, when you are doing well at it, it can be quite rewarding. But in order to gain the expertise you have to play mind numbing hours to keep up with the 12 yr olds, and it's not worth it really. You need an tightly honed configaration as well. Any choke and you're screwed.

Before TF2 came out I had a go at it for a few months as my "game of choice". Played on Fragmasters Office only server. And I got quite good at it. But only on Office. Occasionally on Dust2.

Beside those flaws that Spiderbloke and fluffy pointed out there's also the fact that out of 20 or so weapons only few are actually used commonly. The rest are there mainly for humor value or if you don't have money for the better ones. Some of them don't even have much common with their real life replicas (ie. UMP).

I also played pretty much cs_office and de_piranesi only, on AWP-restricted servers of course. I have to agree though it can be pretty rewarding sometimes if you manage to kill a couple of dudes and plant the bomb successfully or something like that. On the other it can be frustrating too but that's no surprise..

I'd buy garry's mod now if I had to choose. :)

If you don't have money for the real weapons, you buy a deagle. It's as simple as that. :D
