Don't know if there are any 2d-game fans among HH (besides Khola) but this remake of the original 8bit NES game just saw daylight a couple days ago. Now as a huge fan of classic sidescrollers I've been waiting this for a while, just bought it and downloading atm.
The only downside is that apparently Valve asked too much money from the team so they didn't manage to get an agreement to release it via Steam, but other than that it seems like a solid investment. Also some have complained that the remake is somewhat easier than the classic version but I find the original quite hard so I doubt it'll be too easy.
There's a 2 player co-op mode and the price is only $15 so it's quite cheap too. The game is also available to PS3 and 360 via xbox live arcade if you're into that kind of thing.

Oh ya pc users have been able to get a erm... 'special' copy for a few weeks now... silly pc people paying

Atleast you don't get conscience issues from not paying for something well worth the money. It was $15 for PC so I believe only $5 cheaper(?), and with the current situation of € vs. $ that hardly makes any difference.
Anyway, some feelings about the game: I can't imagine playing it with keyboard. Of course it's about personal preference, but games like these are pretty much made for a gamepad of some sort. Luckily I have an adapter for attaching 2 playstation controllers to USB so that wasn't an issue.
I don't understand the bithin' about difficulty level; I find it rather difficult on medium even, mostly because of pitfalls and not the AI but it's challenging enough without getting too frustrating.
If someone asked me to review it I'd say 4.5 / 5 or something, don't think you could do it much better than this and the soundtrack is solid gold too. Now hopefully the upcoming whole new 3d version of Bionic Commando will live up to it's expectations.
