can't remember there being a delta option but just checked and there is. means you have to go around manually picking up ammo like the original game, where as you can just run over it in the other difficulties. i went straight for normal without realising how short it was but i reckon i'll go back and play again which is a good sign.

Any single player game I ever play on now, I play on the hardest difficulty setting without cross hairs.

It's a good habit to get into, I like to think that the most extreme difficulty mode is the mode the game was intended to be played on.

Although don't try playing Quake on extreme for longer than a week. You'll get a hernia.

All praise Doom/2 + Nightmare

I agree that games with like 3 difficulty settings are best played on hard (the AI doing all it can do).
Maybe though some games with loads of settings (ala UT series) it's a bit less clear what you're turning on and off.

Also Bumbandit, Bedizen, how did it run? Did Crytek live up to their promise of optimisation?

Or is it just just like Crysis? ;)

Heh. I have a reasonable machine, it's quad core but not got the most amazing GPU (8600 GTS).

It was OK, as soon as the snow kicks in though, my machine is fucked.

I can't run it with antialiasing either.

So i call lies.

(8800GT, amd 5600 dual, 2 gig 800mhz ram all overclocked)
Started out with most stuff on high (enthusiast) bit choppy but playable, soon as the vehicle/high speed sections started i had to pretty much change everything to gamer) steady 40fps after that even in the ice.

the optimisation stuff is a bit of a con, it is optimised but only for the following crysis branded pc this one http://gizmodo.com/5048204/crysis-warhe ... cs-for-700.

any other hardware config hasn't really got any advantage, so i read. Personally i noticed no improvement maybe a bit worse since they've really filled the game up with enemies objects this time.

Finished the single player last night on hard. Real disappointment imo, so its in keeping with the crysis legacy then :p

Really short, funnelled down the same linear path 95% of the time, new weapons really don't add anything and the aliens are still annoying as hell and aren't really that great in terms of design either. All imo of course, but I've found both games derivative with the suit being the only saving feature, and even that gets mundane after an hour or so's usage when you can get the best out of it, constantly swapping in-combat situations etc.

Crysis franchise you won't be missed on the PC by me.

Unless you plan on making your own levels and messing about in the editor with stuff then really i would not bother, SP is great fun but it's more like a well made mod than an offical expansion pack, if your lucky you can get 10 hours out of it 2 play thoughs and you've seen all there is too be brutaly honest, and then there is the MP (which is it's own game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a3ZB_uj ... re=related), although i like it and can spend hours on it, it is not balanced and is most certainly not always fun lol (them flying things aka the VTOL being the reason why), i will say this, Power Struggle is a Great game type.

I got warhead for the MP (as stated before i like it but i'm good at it so yeah :p)
And primarily for the new Sandbox editor, which has yet to be released :/

Well I have picked up Crysis' multiplayer again (after not touching it since I bought the game). Patches seem to have fixed most of the problems I had with it.

Apart from the dickheads who seems to play it, however. Your average CounterStrike server has more maturity and teamwork.
