Lara gets dirty!
No, she does... really. All muddy and stuff.... great effect!
So yes I bought TR underworld and consider yesterday a pretty successful haul of game buying actually... considering I had no intention of buying anything.
TR underworld special edition £19.99 in Game- fools had priced special ed the same as the retail. Good price for a new game- One in the bag!
Stalker Clear Sky- £12.99 trade in at Gamestation. I;ve not finished Stalker and again had no intention of buying... but they were asking £34.99 next door for the spec. edition!
Then Hitman Blood money- £3.... I've not played the Hitman series (although have always heard good things). I thought at £3 it would be an insult not to buy it!
So that comes to £35! The price of and over-priced game!
I feel like I did well anyway! Didnt even know gamestation did PC trade-ins..... but bad news: No more retro from their stores
yeah hitman's a v good series, think you'll enjoy it

Re: Lara gets dirty!
Enjoying TRU... to a point.
After playing assassin's creed I expect to be able to hang off anything... but Tomb Raider's Tomb raider and it is all a bit more Linear. It's become Linear in a good way though- very much the feel of the early Tomb raiders (although I didnt play the last). Action-movie cut scenes and plenty of pondering about.
There are bugs though. Sometimes quite small... but hard to ignore. Alot relates to the camera and controls; the camera really is, well, quite bad.
Other things like an enemy repeatedly spawning at a point have been spotted. There is mention even in the Readme of a possible patch however.
The game def comes alive when you hit Thailand- forget the first 2 levels (and strangely starts to run better too )

Re: Lara gets dirty!
I'm getting the feeling I'm nearing the end now- which is scary as in FO3, FC2, ME terms I've just started playing the damn game!
So far- More bugs. more puzzles. more jumping. but somehow still fun (just).
The immortal battle of Woman against Tomb; Man against Camera
Many times screaming . If I had neighbours I would pity them. Missing that all important jump you couldn't save for (due to a handy save-bug!) because the camera axis remains fixed on Lara's chest/butt, for the 12th time, will make you scream. Alot. Other than getting stuck on, well, anythng, and occasionally being killed by a stationary boulder it's positively bug free! I'm in no state of surprise- this is Tomb Raider and the Camera is like the hardest Boss (speaking of which- where are they?)
Still a few days of fun and well worth the £14.99 I imagine it will soon cost.
My main point, (now convieniently at the bottom of the post ) is that this is the engine that will be used in the uber-anticipated Deus ex 3! Surprised? I was.
I'm imagining (hoping!) there'll be some reworking of character LODs and some crisper textures for 1st person for a start. Some of the games Vistas (whats a Vista? ) and ruins are actually genuinely beautiful. Hard to imagine in a Sci-fi setting, but as long as the release isn't forever away it should still look pretty.
Lets just hope areas aren't too segmented like Invis. War and we get free reign of the levels. I guess the way you unlock segments of Tombs and progress deeper might work well for buildings and their security systems.
Apart from Lara's rubber composition the physics seem sound. A few genuine lols as a Thrall torso slid a graceful arc around a spiralled ice tunnel, gaining speed as it went.
What I haven't seen much of in the game is AI- although this is mainly because Ive been shooting tigers, spiders and other non-intelligent creatures rhyming with 'igers'. Im hoping this is where there'll be putting alot of input- Deus Ex 2 lacked that dynamic, changable feeling and I hope they manage that a little more with no.3
