Just thought I should bring your attention to this:

A serious critical Security Vulnerability has been discovered in the latest version of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Aah I this game is great! IMO it's even scarier than Doom 3!
People who have gone trough some underground labs filled with mutants and ghosts know what Im talking about.

The bouncy head motion made me a bit sick, though there are mods to turn it off.

Atmosphere was excellent
Story-telling was abismal

Also some sort of fast travel option is needed as it gets tedious running back through three areas to get a quest reward. I heard Clear Sky would have that option.

This is scary stuff! Even scarier as I have no idea what it means!

Methinks I'm unplugging ethernet if I play stalker in the future!

From what I understand it means it's possible to execute random, malicious programs/scripts on a server(-machine) after causing a DoS-attack, possibly infecting players joining the server, making their computers vulnerable as well.

Chances are that that's a lot of bogus.

is this multiplayer only right?

I don't know, even if what I wrote up there is correct, I have no idea how that game handles unrequested packets and all that stuff so I couldn't tell.

I doubt there's anything to be afraid of but there are some bored morons out there...ideally play offline until it's patched I guess.

nope the 1 player looks pretty sweet, unless theres 2 stalker games coming out,which is possibly the case cause i didn't know it was multiplayer lol. Was thinking about getting this but reckon i might hold out for fallout 3 for my next epic 1 player fps experience
