Incoming PC games for 2008 Clicky Which ones are you excited about? For me top of the list will be Left 4 Dead. Followed closely by Fallout 3, Alan Wake and Far Cry 2. I was looking forward to Frontlines: Fuel of War. This is being developed by KAOS Studios, the team behind awesome Battlefield 1942 mod Desert Combat. As a result of that mod, EA/Dice famously snapped the team up to develop Battlefield 2 and once they had finished it, immediately sacked them. |

Mostly Fallout and Alan Wake on the PC. Dragon Age if that is released in 2008 which I doubt. On consoles Etrian Odyssey 2 on the DS, Persona 3 FES on ps2, Lost Odyssey on 360 and I will buy a PS3 for Disgaea 3. Yeah I like rpg's |

Similarly looking forward to Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Alan Wake- but also think the new Alone in the Dark could be promising. They've modelled Central Park in NY quite painstakingly and have some really fancy new fire effects where the flames will propigate realistically and spread across wooden surfaces etc. Also some quite inventive weapon systems in which you can combine various bits and peices to improvise weapons. I remember the origional series fondly so we shall see if they do it justice. Also on my to buy list, but not on your clicky list is Borderlands- a Mad Max esque free-form shooter with some great scope for co-op play. Similar look to ID's Rage but here your buggy is more transport less racing (i hope). They're aiming for an rpg feel with a bunch of item drops and customisable weapons. Driving about a desert with 3 mates in your buggy sounds promising. On the adventure side of things there's Vampyre story from some of the ex-lucasarts staff and American McGees Grimm, a 24 part adventure retelling classic fairy stories in American's trademark dark stylee- I just loved the atmosphere of Alice when it came out, though 24 parts? Will have to be very good or very cheap for me to buy something more than a few times over. Oh, and Duke Nukem Forever cos as we all know its about to be released, honest! Ahmmm I'll believe it when i see it 3D Realms! Also watching closely Bionic Commando and Speedball... cos i loved the origionals, Brutal Deluxe ftw! oh and Dragon Age looks awesome but Im guessing 2009+ |

Had my reservations about Frontline as all I've seen of it is pre rendered sequences and artwork woven into a short film. If you don't see any real time gameplay then I'm wary of it. Turok looks boss, going to get DoW:Soulstorm to go with the other 3, Far Cry 2 could be a winner, Tiberium if it's any good (probably just going to be BF2142 only with ion cannons), Interstellar Marines (if it ever comes out), probably Vegas 2, and perhaps Mercs 2: World in Flames. My brother certainly wants Left 4 Dead. Personally, while I can see the appeal, ain't that bothered. |

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - Quited WoW two months ago, need a new addiction! Fallout 3 - Might suck - not the same developers as the other games. Left 4 Dead - I like zombies & gore... Turok - Looks beautiful, and could be fun wtfpwning dinosaurs. Spore - Seems fun... Other than that: Give me next episode of Mass Effect! NOW. I want to KICK YOUR ASS FILTHY REAPERS! And enslave the galaxy, so humanity can become superior! |

I'll probably try out Age of Conan if it's not ruined by all the hype and delays. Can't say that I'm really expecting it because of the fact that the games that I expect to come out tend to disappoint me often. I played WoW for almost two years so hopefully it'll be something completely different, yet as good. Alan Wake is also on my personal list, mostly because it is developed by Remedy Entertainment and I loved playing both Max Payne games. |
