If after trying Beyond the Red Line, you (like me) want more of the same, look no further than the following link http://www.hard-light.net/ for more potentially free flight games based on the same game engine.
P.S. I have never really been a fan or indeed hooked on Flight games, but this one has me hooked. P.P.S If anyone knows of anything similar please make a recomendation

Re: BSG - Beyond The Red Line
I remember them releasing this and finding the free freespace2 download too, it Just reminded me to play Elite 2 so thanks...
Maybe X2 or X3 for a reccomendation? They're a bit slow burning but rewarding if you give em time. Massive big galaxies to explore and stuff, something else for that Joystick Rizz, can't be alot more than a tenner for the new one.
http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ Very technically oriented, but can be used just for fun and as a normal flight sim because there are masses of addons for it. You just try landing the shuttle.

Re: BSG - Beyond The Red Line
Thx Spider for the rec, I'll look into that soon. (Never mind landing the Space shuttle, I probably wont even be able to Launch it you're havin' a laff...)
Btw Did you ever play Search and Rescue 4, I found it flawed (well it was too realistic and hence tricky to learn), but you pld as helicopter rescue crews etc. I spent the first few days just trying to get offthe helipad Kept blowing up the rotors...
But the main reason I am posting to is to share more freebie Flight games based on this Freespace2 open source engine
Check out these pages for more Space combat/Flight heaven (I havent tried them all yet-only tried two others at the time of writing, but I can tell you Wing Commander and The Babylon Project are very impressive indeed. (The Babylon project imparticularly has plenty of addional Campaigns to download.)
