If only it were possible to designate a pond/pool and get the bucket brigade to fill it with booze instead and get a booze waterfall going. That would rule.
"Urist McBooze cancels designation. Drowned in dwarven ale."
Nah... Mental would be working out how to make it a completely self enclosed system of perpetual motion, working on the principle that water underground doesn't evaporate as quickly and will only need infrequent topping up...
And then considering how much capacity your sewerage level would need in order to ensure you didn't flood the nobles habitation level when you turn the system off...
and considering inserting an additional 'overflow' layer between the noble habitat and the sewerage layer to ensure no flooding when the system is in a resting state...
That would be mental...

I'm sure you've probably already been referencing this in your build Sarge, but this is indispensable when dealing with any liquids: http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Pressure especially the note about forcing fluids through diagonal connections, neutralising pressure.
I've taken some screenies of the designated layouts. They're not dug yet, and I've backed up my save files just in case it all goes wrong... I'll annotate the screenshots and post them (probably in a new thread cos this has gone OT from the team game..) later on tonight or tomorrow.
(Sorry for only writing one report, but not much has happened really)
Fortress of Largerack Yearly Report 22nd Obsidian 1058 Late Winter By Argento
Another year has passed in the Fortress of Largerack under my command. This year was relatively easy for me to manage the fortress: Everything was already running fine and there were no hostile encounters with Goblins or the horrors in the deep. Still no migrants though. The only thing I could think of to improve was to properly wall off the cavern my predecessor Jaymagnnus opened. There were still Giant Olm people coming from the water and trolls coming down from a cliff that I think Jaymagnnus missed.
So, because things were so great in the fortress, I thought the only thing I could do was to DIG DEEPER. And so we did. Since the previous miners died due to unforeseen consequences, I was put into mining duty with my best pal Behduzen. Together (when he wasn't drinking of course) we dug about 100 levels downwards into the mountain, trying to find a vein of the substance every dwarf dreams of: Adamantine. We didn't succeed, BUT we found all kinds of other stuff: Tons of Gold and Silver veins, another cavern and a MAGMA SEA.
According to the Encyclopedia Dwarfatica, which we brought with us from our Home Fortress, magma seas are large seas of magma that expand across the entire world. These can typically be found by around Z level -120. It is not uncommon to find multiple z-levels of pillars of Raw adamantine in the magma sea.
The sea looked very interesting but we couldn't see any Adamantine anywhere. We must keep looking...
In other news, the amount of pets Kimblee has adopted is now 56. Now, Kimblee is a good friend of mine, but this is getting a bit ridiculous. I don't want to upset him by killing some of the pets, but maybe one day there could be an unfortunate magma accident...
I also put some granite statues of myself next to my room. Hope no one minds.
As said earlier, we have all the Gold and Silver we will ever need so we could pretty much solely concentrate on making crafts from those materials, but my successor can decide on that.
As a final note: Someone should really help Behduzen with his drinking problem. I tried directing him to our Chief Medical Dwarf Garland, but he wouldn't listen. He's pretty much always drunk and I think it's affecting his mining speed. Also kudos to the one who came up with the idea of training bears to fight for us!
It's Behduzen's turn to take over this place (Who thought that would be a good idea?), if we survive this year, I should be back in charge in about 4 - 5ish years.
