Its explained in the beginning: the people on the Skyrim-team at Bethesda had a week to do whatever they wanted... I'd love to see some of that implemented!
I saw it and immediately thought, why isn't half this stuff already in the game, and modders have made some of this too.
I mean that vampire additions would make being one desirable rather than a nuisance, the projectile killshots would be nice, and dragon mounts, well duh.
My thoughts exactly. Most of the stuff are straight up improvements to the game yet they aren't implemented. They had a good opportunity to improve the game but they decided not to; I am not pleased.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
More add-ons, means more testing, more delays to release, more moans because this thing ain't been tested properly, look at all these bugs etc...
A game like this is never finished, hence loads of mods. The creators have to stop at some point don't they?
That's what I don't get if they had put more effort into the game it would feel more immersive and overall a better game play experience, and actually ironed out the game. It has taken them this long to make Skyrim to begin with - what's an extra month or two going to hurt? Instead they have left it to the modders to implement it so they don't have to. Laziness all around, really.
I don't expect much from game developers nor can I demand anything from them but I am in the belief that they should iron out their game and make it as feature rich as possible to suit the world they want to immerse the player into.
This is an insult to the game. Are they even going to attempt to implement those things? Release it as DLC? Surely not leave it to the modders. Le sigh. Still not pleased.
Considering it's not uncommon to see people with 150+ hours playtime on Skyrim, even before the devkit was released, I'd say people got their money's worth and the game is plenty feature-rich on it's own.
Having potential for additional and in some cases, drastically game-changing content by modders isn't lazy, it builds communities around the games and provides a ton of extra entertainment/creative stimulation for both creators and players, and occasionally provides opportunities within the games industry for some of the more adept modding groups. (Counterstrike, The Ball, Team Fortress etc.)
That video was just showcasing a creative exercise internally, things that happen all the time but rarely get glimpsed at by the general public, and it just so happened the subject was Skyrim. If we're lucky they might release some of these interesting things as official mods, or modders will just copy the ideas, most of them don't look particularly complex to implement. If not, the best bits will probably turn up in DLC. (Seasonal foliage & effects please! )

Feature Creep. There always comes a time in any development that that it is decided that there will be no more features added, and to polish what's already there. They did have a release date to keep to. And besides, I'd say the few months off from creating new content and only working on bug fixes and other post release stuff allowed them to refill their creative juices to get the ideas for the stuff in that vid.

It's not too hard to install and I've not experienced any problems thus far.
Don't worry Deep, even I managed to install it without any issues. Still feel that its a shame that I have to though.
Also I do think that iRPAx doth protest too much...
Like the Bethesda dude said this is stuff they made after release, not stuff left out. Mad props to them for releasing dev tools, like valve, top of their game.
If you want to moan about the way a dev treats their games look no further than Blizzard, not at Bethesda.
