A Brief Guide to getting VOIP to work in Brink (yes, we have mumble but all same, it's good to use in game properly too, especially after learning about Fireteams)
First of all you need to fix the default VOIP settings. By default the developers set the volume for VOIP in and VOIP out to -6db, which is way too quiet for anyone to be able to hear.
Fixing the VOIP settings
Method 1: Editing autoexec.cfg
Locate your autoexec.cfg (it's in C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\XXXXXXX\22350\local\base)
Fireteams A fireteam is basically a group made up of friends or people who want to play together. Anyone in your fireteam will hear you when you speak whilst pressing the fireteam VOIP key. (Default '3')
Creating a Fireteam
Bring up the scoreboard.
Click on the name of the player, that you want to invite to your Fireteam, and then 'Create fireteam with...'.
That player recieves a Yes/No pop-up to join the Fireteam.
If they accept then their name will go purple and they will then hear you when you speak using the Fireteam key bind.
VOIP Function & Key Defaults Defaults are as follows bind "3" "_fireteamvoice" //voip for Fireteam bind "9" "_voice" //voip for team
