Well, there are 9 stages, all of which can be played as both old and new Sonic, 3 bossfights, something like 3-5 challenges for each stage afaik (which can, too, be played as both Sonics, so double that number...that's ~54-90 challenges), and 5 rival battles. Even without accounting for replayability of levels (it's not like you've done all routes -not to mention speedruns- after playing a stage once), that's a decent amount of content IMO.
Like Garland says, it's not OMGAMAZING, but then you only pay 17 pound for an otherwise really fun game.

Got it, and let me say up front, the PC version is the xbox version, aside from a small config thing which lets you assign buttons to where the game expects xbox buttons and having all of 3 graphics settings (4 if you count resolution).
Okay, that bit out of the way. There's also the fiddly controls and frustrating deaths, mostly because my computer chugs a bit. Also had a few random deaths on the 2D section through falling through the floor. The last boss was also a pile of visual noise and it was difficult to tell what I was doing, and then somehow I won anyway.
Apart from that. The game is actually rather fun, lots of different paths, lots of speedrun shortcuts and fun challenges. And every other boss fight is enjoyable, even if it is unclear how to damage some of them at first.
