Aces of Spades has matured quite a bit since it was last posted on this forum, plus I've just set up a server, so I've decided to start a fresh thread.

• Build anything – defensive positions to fortresses
• Destroy enemy structures, dropping opponents to their death
• Use your spade to dig through terrain – make trenches or tunnels
• Massive maps with lakes, rivers and tunnels
• Realistic rifle, shotgun and SMG including ironsights and recoil
• Dynamic lighting system based on ambient occlusion
• Up to 32 players battling simultaneously
• CTF or Territory Control game modes

Currently it's running in CTF mode on a converted Minecraft map of the City of Aquila

You know what I'm going to try this not normally my of thing but this looks good.

i have played this quiet a few times, it can be quiet fun but it's often a case of no one PTFO so to speak, green building a massive base, blue digging all the way under it.

Still fun tho.

Updated server to pyspades.
So it now includes the following.

• A remote console (using SSH)
• Map rotation
• Map metadata (name, version, author, and map configuration)
• Map extensions (water damage, etc.)
• A map generator
• An IRC client for managing your server
• A JSON query webserver
• A status server with map overview
• Server/map scripts
• Airstrikes
• Melee attacks with the pickaxe
• New gamemodes (deathmatch / runningman)
• Rollback feature (rolling back to the original map)
• Spectator mode
• Dirt grenades
• Platforms with buttons
• Ban subscribe service
• Statistics (for highscores on http://aos.mp2.dk)
• A ton of other features(?)
• Many administrator features(?)
• A lot of epic commands(?)

Has anyone been playing this regularly?

I play it occasionally. It can be quite fun, and there is something pretty unique about it. It's as Minecraft objective-based FPS.

I havent played it on our server yet but i'm planning too when i get a chance. Deus Ex has captivated my attention once more atm tho.

As good as i remember tbh, but the same issue, not enough people ptfo.

i'd litterally walk the intell into our base and die, and no one else would attempt to secure it except for me.

Ah well it's still fun.
