The gameplay is Elder Scrolls squashed to fit a lag-conscious and balance-conscious MMO world - i.e. real-time combat is out, and classes, levels, hot bars and a third-person viewpoint are in.

Becoming a werewolf or a vampire is a no-no, as will be mastering all skills and becoming godlike in power. Player housing is out to begin with.

The Elder Scrolls Online is built on the HeroEngine - the same technology that powers Star Wars: The Old Republic.

2nd this. It's a big big Shame a real black armband day.
Yeah it's like they're forcing you to get it.
Plus with the success of the single player ones, I doubt they'd be replaced with online only types.
Either get it or don't.

Should be cool, but no player housing?
If it's a world like the previous games (As in player houses already being in the world rather than appearing), you could possibly get players hogging the houses and leaving others with none (Since you can have more than one house). Maybe they'll give you camping gear like the hunter type NPCs have in Skyrim.
Remember that some features that work in Singleplayer might not work the same in multiplayer.
Like ones that you can place down.

I know they are not, but this is only really going to distract from where the Elder Scrolls really have their home, the single player world. Surely there are enough MMO's around as it is, the Elder Scrolls should stick to what its good at.
Why so many people are getting so giddy over this is beyond me. It's Generi-Fantasy-MMORPG#28216 with some branding on it. Super safe, there's just no risk-taking going on at all.
