That's what I've been waiting for. Going to get it as soon as it's available. I just hope that a) the standalone version will be compatible with the mod (so I can play with people that own Arma + mod); and b) that people are actually still playing this game when I get around to it.

I've come to the point that i have no need to loot any towns except for food and drinks. Finally found a ghillie suit and im fully geared.

I can't stop playing this game.

It's the game I've always wanted. It's buggy, full of dickheads, has barely any content and I've already got top end gear.

But I can't stop playing it, I don't want to play anything else.

full of dickheads - adds to realism, plus I have high hopes of WarZ/novelty wear off, noticeably taking away this factor, (also linux support or whatever it takes to get an HH server)

has barely any content - has room for imagination, almost on a spectrum level if you have the head for it

I've already got top end gear - screw you hippy. my bro, very obsessed with this game as well, is always on about dmg numbers, noise ranges...etc, i couldnt care less about that to me its more about finding a bike, or, by this i mean my tractor > your gun. no idea what my point is.

anyway, ye to give a very opinionated opinion this is one of the very rare modern day games that can immerse like the proper oldschool games used to (that block is your face dude), being genuinely into it is testament to your rooots, man

Also if you're sick of the endless pvp and server hoppers, search for the Savage Sanctuary server. It's on a private hive so your character there is seperate from the main game, the admin is a nice guy who keeps things in check without hoarding vehicles and reverting the server when his camp is destroyed crap like most server hosts do. It also has side chat enabled which really brings everyone together (when they do speak). Bandits don't usually last long.

Sounds nice. Especially when I've got a friend who's new to the game and I'd prefer having another character for playing with him.

cant remember the name unfortunately but i also have had a good experience on a sanctuary server, group of guys in a heli going around helping people in distress, unless you were dumb enough to shoot at the heli ofc which caused some hilarity in chat, definitely potentially good if not slightly detached from the core experience of dayz.
