Ohhh kayyyy... Update
The MWO NDA is now up and I can finally say- what a game!!

Been playing a few months now pretty solidly and the new patch has really added some polish!
Any fan of Mechwarrior/Battletech would be mad to ignore this on release as it's gonna be F2P... yes, yes! I groaned too!... thankfully nothing in the game is Pay 2 win and is mostly cosmetic ala WoT (maybe less).. all can be achieved by just saving cash and doing well anyway... which just means playing well and with some nouse.

Much left to be added still (air-strikes, more Commander options etc) but here's a vauge rundown so far (tbh I just wanna go play it! )

Uses (fairly simple but genuine) Battletech rules and stats..
Gives us a good 'technical' fight without becoming too anal.
All Mechs and play-styles CAN be good in their own way, honest!
Nice graphics and environment with the Cryengine 3.4 and Nvidia behind it... (DX9 + 11 settings) ..Scales well (still dx9 at this time)

It may not be up to WoT 's polish yet but cannot be beaten by anything other than MW4 for realistic 'mech play! (also now free online, through MekTek i think?)

Is going to be a VERY polished game for a free offering- expect the TV adverts ala WoT next year! (not sure i approve!)
Alot of people are under the inpression it's really hard... Just make sure you watch some 'how to play' vids and you'll be fine! I regularly get my ass handed to me by new guys on a trial mech!
JUST STAY WITH YOUR TEAM! (unless a scout) -Focusing fire is the Key.

On the other side of things Hawken is fine but is far more fast paced and close quarters and UT3-ish... all fine but really leaves alot of technical and tactical stuff. Lovely Art though!

Another thing MWO control is somehow amazing with a mouse!!! (Really! in fact only worth playing otherwise with- a Trackball (i've heard, hmm) or a custom joystick (if u really want)



Just get on and kick some ass (plenty of money to be made atm) and throw me an invite!

Is approaching launch after a 2 year beta? wowzers!

It's got good but with more content comes complexity! Also alot of new players so almost balances.
You can make enough in a trial mech fairly quicly to fit yourself something good.

And praise juhualabab theyve got some tutorial videos now... though it's best to run with a clan and enjoy a proper battle. Some take it more seriously than others but id say its better.
