Know, that was my first impression as well. Not a single fuck was given in beta, doubt they're going to do anything about it.

It feels like it's still in beta but they thought fuck it, let's cash in on our expensive 1000 cert weapons.

This somewhat helped:

Go to your planetside2 folder and locate UserOptions and change renderdistance -> RenderDistance=1000
