I've just got to the end of Office Complex and I have to say it's exactly what it said it was going to be. Very satifisfied with it so far. As a nostalgia trip it's top notch.

Just finished "We Got Hostiles".

So far its been totally worth the hype. I'd love to know what somebody who's never played the original thinks of it, since its hard to gauge how much of my enjoyment is due to nostalgia. I'd like to think that HL1 is timeless and this graphics update just makes it more palatable to our spoiled tastes. I've no problem with the slight deviations so far either, its faithful to the original where it matters. Polish is excellent too.

So yah. Well fucking done. I hope Gabe is playing it while figuring out where to fit these guys on the payroll. :P Either way they should be proud to include it on their CV.

ps. Who else backtracked needlessly because they thought they'd missed picking up the crowbar? :D

I downloaded it 2 times, spent an hour n a half just to get 20% so i quit that. Lucky for me I was privy to a private download location and downloaded the whole thing in 26 mins flat, result!

I spent a good hour n a half just cocking about and finding Easter eggs (such as the chuckle brothers mug) before actually starting the game.

I stopped playing at the blast pit, or rather i crashed. heading back to burn the beast.

It's a great game and I'm having a load of fun, Aside from the weapons being switched around making it easier (the magnum makes real short work of 'we got hostiles')i have no real issues with the game play at all, the only thing I'll moan about is myself for remembering everything to well.

I love everything they have done so far especially the artistic liberties they've taken with certain parts of the original.

I found the grunts to be quite a bit tougher than how I remember. They knock of big chunks of health with those SMGs frighteningly fast. I bumped into a few without the .357 in hand and they happily relieved me of 50-60 hp before I could put them down. I wondered if they gave you the early .357 specifically to deal with the more dangerous grunts.

Just played a bit.
Man this is fun.

I like that you don't get the crowbar until a little later than usual and have to fend off zombies with flares.

I think all the enemies in general hurt you more than they used to.
I love the way the Houndeye attacks with those stripes glowing when it does.

I also like that the game is no longer a sausage fest :P
The original only had one female character (There are the assassins but I'm talking about NPCs not enemies)

The moment I get access to a faster connection, I'm downloading this.

Been waiting a very very long time for it and from the sounds of it, it's been worth the wait! :D

I managed to download this from the site in 2 hours :)
I'm surprised, I thought it would have taken all day.

I'll parrot everyone saying its quite good. I'm glad they got rid of some of the pointless, confusing ducts and corridors.

But I'm not too sure about the marines either. The lobby fight in Questionable Ethics was maddeningly frustrating. I got past it by hiding behind crates, killing the inquisitive troopers who came to find me, and waiting until the rest lost interest before going after them, then repeat. It wasn't much fun to be honest.

I find it hard to believe that these crack troopers are having a hard time fighting the Xenian wildlife. Any time I do see them fight each other the marines win hands down.

The only parts I've had a problem with was the dam and cliff side, the helicopter tore me a new one both times, it's rockets happily destroyed me countless times and when i tried to evade it i got ripped apart by it's chain gun. The fight at the dam was so frustrating and knowing that fight was just a taster for the real thing put me in a right mood. And the building with the nukes did me in, F6 every time i cleared one of the tripwires.

I get what people mean about the marines, questionable ethics gave me a rough time but only cause i was missing shots with the magnum, once i made it to the desk it was like playing whack a mole.

Still having a blast, i hauled as much ammo as i could through the stages so i could use the gluon cannon exclusively in lmbada core, so much fun whoring this thing.
